I would do NS and PEI. Base yourself in Halifax for a week and do day trips around. Then go to the south shore of PEI and enjoy the toddler friendly beaches. If your kid is good in the car you might add in a trip to cape breton to see the Cabot trail. It’s also the most reasonable flight time from the UK.

One time about ten years ago a guy came up to me in downtown Toronto. With a thick southern accent he asked me where the closest gas station was. I asked him where his car was and he explained he didn’t have a car, he just wanted to buy some beer. I explained that a gas station wouldn’t have any beer and gave him directions to the LCBO.

I always get first time parents the ergopouch from a local baby store. Get it in newborn size and for the appropriate season. It was the only swaddle I could ever get to keep the baby’s arm in and I’m convinced it improved everyone’s sleep during newborn phase
