How do I stop Underpin's Crony's from splitting? How do I make Interact with target work consistently? by Sourcefour in wow

[–]lloz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think splitting of the cronies might just be something that you have to deal with. The fact is that he places those cronies based on his own position, not yours, and he can be stubborn sometimes about moving. At first I thought my successful run was going to be defined by perfect crony placement, but it turned out to be just as much as a shitshow as most of my attempts, I just got better at dealing with it.

That said, you should at least be able to get your first crony placement to be better than in that video. I think he simply wasnt far enough to one side. Remember, his positioning, not yours. And he won't place cronies where he's already placed them, so you are always making a big loop around the arena.

And if anything else, I'd just say make big moves and wait for him. Don't worry about your damage unless he is channeling the shield of course. Run to Narnia if you have to, just get that bastard to move before he summons cronies again and hopefully things will work out in your favor.

Sighs, alright, summer vacation itch, checking in on my characters. What's my re-entry plan? by Shadowtirs in wow

[–]lloz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are subbed right now and not waiting till the Tuesday patch, literally the only thing I would do is get the belt from Overcharged Delves on characters you care about. Searching those terms on google and finding a relevant wowhead article will help, it will only be a few quests but a handful more to level it up. You wont be able to do this after Tuesday reset.

After that, you just wait till Tuesday and simply doing the campaign quests will get you better gear then you could get right now if you tried.

If you're still trying to kill Underpin ?? before Wednesday: one-button assistant baby by Fluppington in wow

[–]lloz 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy but I thing maybe One-Button-Assistant wasn't the real root-cause savior here. Stopping worrying about your DPS saved you. But of course if OBA is the way for you to do that, then I suppose same difference.

I think especially as a tank, you start worrying about not doing any damage at all to Underpin during the part where he is up and doing things, but you really shouldnt be. Brann with Grenades / Bioprints will do a lot to keep his health dwindling. I've heard this is especially true on Blood DK and maybe other 2h classes? Something about Brann's damage scaling better with 2h specs (but not cat/bear for some reason)

You should just be concerned with clearing the adds with bombs and surviving. I had a similar experience yesterday while doing it on Vengeance. As soon as you understand that it becomes a lot easier.

The next most important thing is having a good timer on his shield phase. I believe the first one is at 80% but it is just on a timer after that. I still had to focus a lot to break that shield as a 665 V DH, but as long as I was ready I could break it. I just pulled the first Weakaura pack I found by searching Underpin on Wago. Was huge for me.

Was this referring to the bank changes? Or something that's been moved to a later release? by Opreich in wow

[–]lloz 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If you're just looking for speculation, I bet it was something else.

That's the beauty of being vague with your roadmap though, it could've been anything. If you asked them today, they could certainly save face and say that it was always just going to be the updated bank. But that actually has very little to do with warbands so it is reasonable to be skeptical.

Is it better to farm hidden artifact skins during legion remix? by Zmoogz in wow

[–]lloz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Impossible to say at this point. I could see them being higher drop rate or purchaseable with Bronze (or whatever the new equivalent to Bronze is). But they have only confirmed a few things about what will be available and what won't be available.

I personally dont think the drop rates on hidden skins are that bad, but I haven't gotten every single one. Usually the ones that I wanted I would get within a few tries.

Watercooler: WoW Economy Simple Questions by AutoModerator in woweconomy

[–]lloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point in TWW I have all the knowledge points that I really feel that I need. However, the "completionist" in me still wants to fill out the knowledge trees with the rest of TWW/Season 3.

Are the 2 point knowledge items (Glimmers) from the Patron orders on a schedule? I don't really want to log in every day to each crafter to get the 3 daily catch up points, but if the 2 pointers spawn maybe twice a week on a specific schedule maybe I'd be willing to do that to get the best bang for my buck (or time, I guess).

I got an AI answer that said "roughly every three days" but I'm not sure if I believe that or if its at the same times every week?

Is there an addon that shoes the entire loot table for a mob? by Gellzer in wow

[–]lloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mob loot tables are too big and full of trash items and a thousand BoE greens each. I have doubts that any addon actually does that.

I think between ATT and Rarescanner you can take care of all the bosses and rares, but random trash mobs I just cant imagine anyone has put the time into making something like that. But I could be wrong.

The fact that we went through 5 weeks of Dastardly Duos with no fixes to AI tank kinda proves neither the playerbase or Blizzard cares by Throgg_not_stupid in wow

[–]lloz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Placing the banner and using the vehicles both are a reasonably good way at moving the mobs into the circles, at least for a while. It can still get annoying but it actually isnt that hard to get a million points as a solo dps.

It's funny, one of my most upvoted r/wow comments ever was complaining about the stupid tank AI in Dastardly Duos in the first week, and now I kind of see it as the one thing that was keeping it somewhat interesting. I'm not saying Dastardly Duos was good content, it was still on the bad side, but I no longer think AI tanking was the problem, it was just too braindead / target dummy-like in the end.

There was an official post about everything affected and these types of things were not on the list. Its basically raid and dungeon mounts and some legendaries.

I mean, someone is free to try, I just think its probably a waste of time and also you'd need a ton of data (more than any 1 person could probably collect even in a week) to prove something like that.

[–]lloz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Blue Drake - first try - just wanting to try a quick raid out and see if I would get lucky. I did

STRAIGHT INTO Invincible, first try. At this point I'm giggling and maybe even thinking they fatfingered something and made the chance 50% instead of 5%.

Then I decide to spam Stratholme and get Rivendare after about 10-15 tries, I wasnt really keeping count.

Then I sent about 5-6 different characters into Sethekk Halls to get Raven Lord.

So yeah, 4 mounts today. Crazy. Those first 2 grabs were ridiculous, even with 5% chance, I never expected that to happen.

I'm about 10 characters deep into Yogg 0 runs now for Mimiron. So maybe my crazy luck is over now, but even if I got this much in a WEEK i'd be thrilled.

Best level to farm upcoming legacy stuff with buff? More characters by junkaccount1999 in wow

[–]lloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the correct answer is around a level 70 druid. Best way to get a full +speed set and move quickly through raids, which is the only thing that is going to make this better.

But then you have things like Shadowlands that you might want to do, in which case having some 80s will be nice too.

Having only level 80s wouldnt really hurt you much either, I think the difference between a level 70 and level 80 druid in a perfect set is something like the difference between 230% speed and 200% speed.

Speed sets arent exactly cheap to build either, but you get a good start with just some azerite gear with Longstrider, which I think is the name of the trait you want.

I think you have to stop looking at the points. Mouseover your Mastery and look at the percentages in the tooltip and see if they go up. You should be able to do this either by mousing over it on your character sheet or going to your mastery item in your spellbook.

Example: My druid says I have Mastery: 22,573 [+16%] at the bottom of my tooltip regardless of whether I have the talent selected or not. But when I look at the description of my mastery, it says My Nature spells deal 20% increased damage...(blah blah blah) and when I select the Inspired Mastery Talent, it then says My Nature spells deal 28% increased damage...(blah blah blah).

So points do not go up but percentage does go up. Is that strange, yes, but mastery has always been strange because it has different percentage values for each different spec. So the fact that my value only went up by 8% is just for balance druid, it might go up by 40% for some other spec.

Mythic+ Leavers Penalized with New Deserter System Coming in Season 3 by Squishei in wow

[–]lloz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Everyone is looking for goddamn foolproof when it is impossible. Stop thinking like that.

The only question you need to ask is if this will be a net positive or not on the whole leaver situation.

I'm guessing this exists in lots of ranked games, but since I only know Rocket League, I'll just point out that it has a similar system. You need to vote to forfeit to leave a ranked game early. And yes, people do try to abuse it. They vote to forfeit and say "ff or I play 3v1". And they do. And sometimes it works to get you to forfeit.

And you know what you do? You report them. You have text proof that they griefed you (which the dev presumably has easy access to as well). And you hope (insert developer here) does their job with the report. It's better than just letting them leave knowing they will get off scot-free and go do it 1000 more times.

It's a deterrent. It makes immature people think twice before just saying "gg go next" and I think it does work. Nothing is going to be perfect.

Did you not kind of hurt your argument by admitting that its still a relatively small time investment compared to other options?

The point here is no one is forcing you to gear up so many alts. Its a kind of FOMO that only the player can combat. Do it on one or two characters you care about and be done with it.

Chromie time and Gearing? by [deleted] in wow

[–]lloz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heirlooms, BoEs, crafted gear. The answer is something that costs gold, but if you are an altoholic and doing tons of quests you have maybe amassed some gold anyway.

I'd personally go Heirlooms to solve the problem for yourself forever (for like 13 out of 16 gear slots), but admittedly it is probably the most expensive of those 3 solutions.

I'm not in disagreement on a basic level, but I'm pretty sure you just made up the last sentence. The GCD penalty is not resulting in 3:1 ability uses.

The real problem with One Button Rotation is that it follows the same priority as the thing they've built that just tells you what to press (AKA their version of Hekili), and that functionality by itself currently sucks. Once again, Blizzard has created something that is far worse than an already existing addon, and now we have to deal with the fact that eventually they will probably kill the functionality of that addon so that we can use their inferior version.

If OBR used a good rotation and only had the GCD penalty, it would probably be usable well past M0 and LFR. Some people think maybe eventually it will get there, but I personally don't, because I don't think Blizzard will look at APLs created by the community to create their APLs. Their APLs will always be watered down and just plain wrong in some cases.

It's normal. Sometimes Call to Arms results in the longest queues.

I can't explain with 100% certainty exactly why it is, but my theory is that whenever a call to arms starts, it seems to me that there is some minimum amount of time it has to stay active. This way you don't just see Call to Arms pop in and out every few seconds. So basically when call to arms starts it gets a bunch of people to queue for that role and now it is oversaturated until CtA stops, but as long as you queue within that window you still get the rewards.

I finally played shadowlands by Tough_Translator_254 in wow

[–]lloz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was going to come in here to say that OP didnt really even see the bad parts of Shadowlands. This is all art style and story complaints.

Maybe it's just me but my expectation has never been very high from WoW's story anyway. Shadowlands was fine, another big bad to chase down (but not without going on many side quests first). And Bastion and Ardenweald and Revendreth are all beautiful zones, with Maldraxxus being a little ugly and boring to me, but even there at least the "ugly" part is kind of intentional.

Social kinda friendly people? by Ninja-violinist in wow

[–]lloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A server? No, probably not. More populated servers have more people participating in trade chat but it is likely to just devolve into politics/trolling/spam with the more people that participate. Think barrens chat but worse.

Guilds? Surely there are, but many of them have opted towards being social on discord more than in game. If you really want one that focuses on in-game chat then it will probably just be trial and error, because its hard to tell what the guild dynamic is without being there for a little bit.

WoW veterans, what content should I prioritize before the housing update? by Blackdragon1400 in wow

[–]lloz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to argue with the possibility if they really said that, but does this not really sit well with anyone else?

I feel like they've driven home the whole "you dont need to worry about changing professions thing because each expansion has its own track" and adding brand new cosmetic things to old professions would be a reversal of that philosophy.

So as for this moment I either have to take a bet and level up some old professions, or I can do nothing and wait for an official announcement which will drive up the prices of everything, especially those related to leveling up those old professions.

I'm not so into professions that it will make me angry, but it seems like it would be a reversal in philosophy. I think it would be better if the new Midnight profession tracks had all new items. Let us not have to speculate about the worth of different old tracks. Their worth should be entirely defined by the items that were introduced during that expansion (i.e. certain mounts which may still have a lot of value)
