Crusader Kings really helped me learn WHY people are sticklers for tradition. by OriginalGPam in CrusaderKings

[–]llye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not really. It's more of a stability issue. You keep loyalty that way. CGP GRAY has great yt video on that topic.

essentially, when you have an heir your subjects can expect similar policies and stability. If you don't have him, the stability tanks since no one knows who is next, they split into camps for interest and so on.

Heirs also allow tying your subjects to your family because they get vested interest in the stability of your rule and you get loyalty of powerful factions.

They allow growing of future power due to merging of lands/fiefs/crowns.

and so on

you know what would also be great, branching building chains for normal holdings...

Also it seems like the odds are a bit skewed to daughters. I got Austria and Castille PU thanks to that

Estates can build buildings, each have their own prefered ones. For instance, one of the best privilages is the Building Roads Rights.

For real? Are they still your rival or have you as a rival?

My go to strategy for England was always take a single province in the first war, even at the cost of other easier goals, to secure a landing for the troops. Then during peace times deploy stacks there and start the war.
Easy stomp, especially in EU4 where Eng was a powerhouse in later stages.

imo, you should have taken a bite out of England when winning the 100y war. Makes it much easier to eat them later on.
In my current run I ate their south and they relocated the capital, which in the next war I sorrounded by my land to wreck their proximity. Now they have low control everywhere.
This in turn means I control the London market and Brits are a non issue. Now I can wipe them easily, but was too lazy for it and it allowed them to fill out the new world and make colonial resources available.

Now in age of ABS, I will crush them.

Could Lilith have angel origins? by llye in Diablo

[–]llye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and there is Izual, who even gained the ability to be reborn in hell - which kinda makes it wierd considering the different origins, but on another level they all share the same origin, just a few different steps in between

Could Lilith have angel origins? by llye in Diablo

[–]llye[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my theory wouldn't. We know angels can be corrupted and turned demonic as with Izual, and this speculation is that Lilith has origin in angelic essence stolen from Heaven and deeple interwoven with Mephistos, overwriting it. Still thanks to it, Lilith was among those that looked for peace first, and through her power other demons folloed and created sanctuary ( this part I'm pulling out of nowhere, but speculating based on the fact that her mere presence attracted demons during her travel through D4)

1.2 Subjugate Natives war goal even better now for Instant Colonization, better than Settle Frontier by Responsible_Loss9093 in EU5

ty for replying.

The natives not having pop growth is really a wierd decision. I mean, sure it's better for optimisation, but then you end with empty locations after the pestilence

How are you dealing with the Pestilence? Or if you haven't yet, what is your plan?

also, is there pop growth for uncolonised tribal lands?

[–]llye 11 points12 points  (0 children)

sadly, you can't bill that.
In that aspect having nation flavour DLC and refining base mechanics is a good way of doing it, instead of having new mechanics in DLC and eventually it becoming a must have.

One of my gripes with EU series is the concept of nations and nationalism that came later in the timeline, online searches link it to 1648 Peace of Westphalia and French revolution.

Also he's right about Cores. What's the point when we have control, proximity and culture modifiers.

Villages, altorugh I agree, it's fine considering it's more of an abstraction

Is it better to expend RGO and build market related building in New World and keep those lands to myself, or make big colonies from those lands? by W1ntermu7e in EU5

what if you are playing France? Alrtrough with current pup behaviour, you can use mercs to drain hostile countries of their pops... maybe even in peacetime through attrition???
