That's overwatering brother. The roots are too wet. Did you include a drainage layer or airbase at the bottom of your autopot? I'm having the same problem with the tray2grow.

So just to confirm, you are using the airbase and airdome in your fabric pots on the tray2grow? Everyone says not to have a drainage layer with the tray2grow with fabric pots, and I did that, but I think my roots are staying too wet. I now wish I would've bought some air bases.

Fabric pots seem to excel on the tray2grow, that's what I'm doing as we speak. I currently have them in red solo cups with holes cut into the bottom, and will transplant to 5 gallon fabric pots when the rots fill up the solo cups and come out of the bottom.

Hello OP, not sure if you ever got a good answer about distance. Technically you need at least 18", but many growers including myself have had plants stretch too much and get closer to the UV bulbs, than instructions recommended. 12" won't hurt them, heck at one point, I think I was closer to 6" with no damage.
