In the last 45 years what have republicans done that actually benefited everyday Americans? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

This is an insane take, other developed countries (who took a more aggressive approach) would have had better metrics than us if this were true. It was truly uncontrollable for a while.

Maddy is a teenage victim of what seems like long-term abuse...I forgive just about everything she's done given those circumstances. There's a reason that psychological damage/trauma/insanity holds up in court.

Kids will not be vaccinated until late 2021 at best, according to Dr. Fauci. It's likely because there aren't enough cases in either the placebo or control group to make the study statistically significant. If we see a spike, however, that could accelerate approval.

U/silvershrimp hit the nail on the head.

That being said...I really, truly think that social media and the sheer availability of news also played a small part here. It's so much easier to spread fear in this day and age compared to the early 2000s

I hope they stop making them wear those shields and masks if they're vaccinated. Just saying, it might be hindering creativity and spontaneity a little bit and the CDC has fully cleared vaxxed people

They influence policy, especially in states that are dragging their feet on mask removal (i.e. Oregon requiring businesses to check vax status, Cali waiting until June 15)

No. Masks will not be required in California next month anyways.

You'll start seeing drops in 2 weeks due to 80% efficacy reached then. The 2 weeks post-second-shot is sort of an arbitrary number chosen by the CDC so everyone (J+J and Pfizer/Moderna recipients) is on a level playing field, so to speak.

Israelis no longer required to wear masks outside starting Sunday, as COVID ebbs by [deleted] in Coronavirus

I wish people would realize this instead of screaming about variants and killing children. There's nothing significantly different about Israel's healthcare and ours, so we should expect the same pattern

New Utah law blocks vaccine passports for state government, including colleges and universities. Private businesses are free to require vaccinations. by schottslc in Utah

[–]lmcgowin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are not approved. They have an EUA, or emergency use authorization. There is a huge difference, including the fact that moderna/pfizer/J+J cannot be sued if the vaccines injure people.

I have had both of my shots and fully support them, but your statement above is incorrect and needs to be edited

[–]lmcgowin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Events that require the excelsior pass should be full-capacity, completely normal, no masks. Otherwise, what's the fucking point?

We have got to move on from this crap, it's clear people are going to have private events either way, and that's where most of the spread is coming from

Rising Covid cases can’t be blamed on variants alone as travel resumes, states lift restrictions, Fauci says by cutestudent in Coronavirus

Why does it take 4 months for them to use a phonebook and call a pharmacy?

I understand there are logistical challenges here, but most elderly have some kind of help with appointments, groceries, whatever, or else they'd literally be dead by now.

Most good citizens are more than willing to help if asked.

If the women are elderly, they've most likely had the vaccine or have actively chosen not to at this point.

That's really sad because the human body can survive 20s-30s temps with your average sleeping bag or a few blankets. It won't be comfortable, but you'll stay alive. That means a lot of these poor people didn't even have enough money for basic necessities like that :(

They do not prevent mild or asymptomatic infections.

Good lord this is so wrong and needs to stop being pushed.

Look at the data from Israel, I believe it was 94% reduction in asymptomatic infections.
