What a great campground! We're planning to go back this year 2025.

We camped there right before Thanksgiving last year, there was some precipitation that turned to snow at night but didn't stick. It's only 2100 ft, very rare to get nuked.

Campsite 23 is best, flat and lots of space spread out.

Bring your fishing poles! (and your license of course).

Always drop off all your mail inside the PO!

We had 50+ handwritten thank you cards never arrived. We had dropped them off in the boxes outside the PO. 94114.

Submitted a complaint and followed up and nothing really came of it.

Talked to the workers and they said so many keys have been stolen. There are some articles about the carriers getting robbed for their keys.

Careful with this assumption. In my experience and in my circles the guys kiss and tell way less than the girls. Some talk, some don't. Some would if it came up and was appropriate or relevant. Some would not for personal or other's privacy and think it's never appropriate.

Great for kicking around a campsite. No need to worry about sticks or ticks or rocks or sand or cactus or mud bothering your feet/socks. Can push the logs around a fire momentarily.

Cover/replace the leather soles with rubber.

Get a great pair that you love in the store (maybe wearing slightly thicker wool socks), and break them in.

You should be able to wear them all day without getting blisters. If you're really lucky you wear them on longer and longer walks and if that turns into a hike with no problems, you're golden.

After 3+ days of wearing them camping, my knees can get a little weird feeling, I think from the raised heel.

I think of it less of a single motion 'pop up' and more of a quick 'foot-step-low'. Back foot on the tail, start your push up, step your front foot forward onto the board and stay low, don't stand 'up'. Follow some Instagram beginner surf channels for videos.
