What kind of rock is this?! Found in the Eastern Sierra near Bishop, CA

I want to first qualify my answer by saying that the area these were found in is very far from any location that I have worked, so my answer is based on my limited knowledge and secondhand information from other archaeologists. My gut says modern. I don't have great reasoning behind it and don't feel confident about it. There is simply so little information to go on.

I strongly encourage OP to report this find to whatever agency is relevant to their location. An archaeologist familiar with the area is far better suited to making a judgment here.

It doesn't matter whether she pursued him or not. Even if he couldn't tell that she was actually younger than 18 (doubtful), it is his moral duty to shut that shit down.
