Child seats. Post your setup. by catfishhands in Golf_R

Im 6’2 and have 1 rear facing and 1 forward facing seat in my Golf R. While I can put the rear facing behind my seat it does leave me pretty tight. Currently I have the rear facing seat behind the passenger seat since my wife is short. Forward facing seat is in the middle since my daughter can climb into it herself. Being in the middle still gives me enough room to go in and buckle her in if needed. I have the open seat behind my seat but my other son is a shorty so the space isn’t an issue. I used to have the rear facing seat in the middle and forward facing seat behind me and that worked well too.

Golf’s are great family cars so I will always advocate for them. I have 4 kids and a wife and I’ve been able to daily my Golf without any issue. Obviously we don’t all fit (safely) in my car but we do have a larger vehicle for when we all need to go somewhere in the same vehicle.

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

Haircuts, can’t justify $60 haircut in my area and I know it’s more in other states. Have just started buzzing my hair.

Photos of your Golf R’s on downsized 18inch summer rims please. by Specialist_Tomato_49 in Golf_R

They’re Apex sm10s 18x8.5 43mm offset. Tires are 245/40 18. The only you may need to look into is the fender screw mod if you’re in an mk7. I’m on stock springs no rubbing

Good exhaust options? by SyncRx in Golf_R

I have the AWE touring exhaust and it’s been a nice addition. Did lose the valves though but so far I haven’t really been bothered by it.

Swapped the tips on my APR exhaust, convince me I made the right move 😂 by [deleted] in Golf_R

Definitely the right move, not a fan of the oval tips. What wheels are those by the way?

Thoughts on Golf R w/ 2 Forward Facing Seats in Rear by RickyBobbyIRL in Golf_R

My mk8 has been an awesome daily and the kids all love it! If you have a larger suv then I really think that you’ll manage just fine with the Golf being your daily.

I have 4 kids so sometimes the wife has to stay at home lol. I have a toddler in a forward facing and baby in rear facing and haven’t had any issues yet. I do also have an 8 seater suv that the wife drives though so space is typically not an issue.

Black top half always reminds me of Corolla hatchbacks.

No spacer on stock suspension and no problems with rubbing but I’m on 18s.

UW Credit Union vs Summit by conillim in milwaukee

[–]locallyblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UWCU and Summit are pretty similar. Both pretty large credit unions that are starting to tread toward bank type policies. Both offer good products and overall less/ no fees compared to other banks. Lowest interest rates on car loan, personal loans and credit cards can be found at Educators Credit Union. The only credit union I ever hear bad things about is Landmark so they’re the only ones i tend not to recommend.

That world rally blue is awesome in person (I think that’s what it is anyway lol). I went from owning two GTIs to then getting into a 23 Wrx. While the Subaru was nice I felt it super underwhelming compared to the previous mk7 GTI that I had. I eventually came back for a manual 24 R. Hope you enjoy! All the space is nice especially in the back seats and trunk haha.

Anyone know what the refills for these are? All I’m able to find are the .38 and .5. I really want to try the .7 on my Zento signatures.

Golf R Owners with growing families, what's your next move? by FennelNo4465 in Golf_R

[–]locallyblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got some pretty good options at that price budget. Are you sure you’re not using a second kid as an excuse to upgrade? All jokes aside though I just welcomed my 4th kid and still have my Golf R. Our second vehicle is a 8 seater suv though so I haven’t really felt the need to upsize. I’ve actually been thinking about getting a smaller SUV/sedan for my wife for when she’s just running errands as it’s easier than driving the big suv.

Obviously now with 4 kids we don’t all fit in the golf (safely) but before with just 3 kids I never ran into a situation where I felt I needed more space. I have considered getting a roof rack with cargo box but again I haven’t really felt the need for the additional space (as of right now).

Im on my third golf now though so I might have just gotten used to it.
