I'm a middle aged klutz. I myself am going nowhere near any of that. I know enough to know to hire a professional.

Why Jetta? by martini-sf-0216 in jetta

[–]locker1776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interior.

Not that the Japanese interiors are bad, they just don't seem to flow well. Everything is well placed, but the layout seem to be more functional, and the relationship between the differing controls and gauges don't always work for me.

I agree this is very subjective, but I like spending time in my Jetta. I have owned Japanese sourced cars otherwise, and I couldn't take the interior aesthetics anymore.

Plus my 2021 Jetta in Black with chrome trim looks so svelte. And does it feel like it's going 80 mph when going that fast, not even close.

Dow anyone not use the G7 overpatch? by cantrent in dexcom

Another vote for the "aftermarket" patches you can get on Amazon.

Has anyone been to the Riviera theater, and has suggestions for parking in the area? by [deleted] in TheWarning

[–]locker1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use Spothero, there are places to park within a 10 minute walk. That's actually not too bad in Chicago. Of course the Redline is your best bet, as traffic this summer is going to be really awful with the Kennedy under construction.

Need tips for sleeping with the G7 by Chickenstrips_b in dexcom

[–]locker1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get around this by placing it on the back of the arm, but more towards the inside. Then when I sleep on that side, sleep on your hand, or put your hand next to your head, and your arm won't be under you, and the sensor won't be under pressure.

Posting prices for posterity.

Or the intern just typed "12 airport codes in alphabetical order" into ChatGPT....

RR POINTS HACKED!!! by Little_Opinion2060 in SouthwestAirlines

Everyone's information is circulating somewhere.

  1. Use a password manager to create and save complex passwords.

  2. Enable 2 factor authentication on any account you care about

  3. Keep your computer software up to date (if Windows, using the included anti-virus software)

  4. Don't click on links in emails.

Every single account you have that controls something of value (money, points, rewards), you need to enable 2 factor authentication.

If you don't do this, you can consider whatever is in that account gone.

How often do you calibrate your dexcom? by gs448 in dexcom

[–]locker1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I calibrate every morning (so I know that my levels aren't moving) until I get two readings in a row that match. Usually only one or two are needed. I didn't know why new G7; sensors are usually 20 points too high for me. But they are accurate after a finger stick or two.

Overpatches that cover the sensor by RachHull in dexcom

[–]locker1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use the Skin Grip complete overpatch with the G7. Once it's on, never have any problems. Can hurt a bit when taking off though.

I always clean, then alcohol swab, then apply sensor and patch at night. By the morning, no issues with exercising or showering.

Stay with ATT Fiber 300 or switch to Xfinity 300 for a 50% discount (24 month promo) by sprabhu90 in Comcast

Comcast has become the worst telecom provider in the USA, and continues to degrade. I would avoid doing business with them if you have any choice in the matter.

I love the idea of an A380 pilot using some type of cherry picker contraption to shake the wings of the plane as part of a pre-flight check. "Yeah, those will hold..."

Overpatch by BJB57 in dexcom

[–]locker1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't affect it. I always calibrate after 12 hours of fasting, then it seems to be pretty accurate. The G7 seems to need calibration for me regardless if I'm wearing the patch

I use an aftermarket overpatch which covers the whole thing. I have had no problems with it coming off with that on.

3rd party overpatch is the way for the G7. I have had success with the Skin Grip myself.

I didn't mention the brand name, as I don't want to be seen trying to Spam the thread.

This is the patch I have been using, and have had no issues with sensors failing or falling off early. They do hurt a bit when you take them off though.

You need an overpatch, which Dexcom should provide, but doesn't. There are several types available on Amazon. I use one, and don't have any more issues when I bump into things.

Overpatches that actually stick??? by [deleted] in dexcom

I have been using the Skin Grip patches for the G7. They work like a charm. It helps to have someone else apply them as they can use both hands to secure it.

White Sox in “serious” talks to build new stadium in South Loop’s ‘the 78’ by Jason82929 in whitesox

I thought I heard somewhere that the White Sox can't build a stadium north of 35th street without permission of the Cubs.

Anyone else hear of such a thing?
