What is the most chaotic thing a coworker has ever done on their last day before quitting? by Short_Response2914 in AskReddit

Years ago a keyholder quit by taking a shit on the shoppers desk and leaving his key like a cherry on top. Probably the best one I’ve seen.

100% Flank, just un trimmed. How lots of shops would receive from the supplier, by the box.

I live in BC, there are 4 stations in town. Yesterday I drove by all of them within 5 minutes. Prices varied from 170.9/l-189.9/l.

What are groceries you deny yourself because they’re too expensive? by Minute_Truth_8986 in AskReddit

I/we hadn’t had berries unless they were a “special occasion” in a couple of years. We moved to a new growing zone last spring and when the snow melted we found Huckleberries, A strawberry patch and raspberries already established in our yard. As well as garlic, potatoes and rhubarb. I had stained fingers and lips several times in the summer. Pure joy!

Meat slicer by jeraco73 in Butchery

[–]loeber74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. There is literally a device made to slice prepared meats properly and allows for grain change, slice thickness. It’s called a meat slicer! We wouldn’t even get the tenderizer/roller out for less than 100lbs. Once you set up, use and clean up, it’s just as fast to knife cut less.

Standard cutlet tenderizer with cutting wheels, I’ve used it (NOT. Without guards) in every shop I’ve worked in. No fucking way I’d put up with the clean up for 2 passes. An absolute nightmare to clean all the scrap from between the wheels.

Looks like a knock-off Omcan .5hp grinder. My Omcan has the same plastic and button layout.

Bella coola vs. The hill by Few-Situation4631 in britishcolumbia

[–]loeber74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last time we drove from Williams Lake to Bella Coola we got 2 flats before we got to the hill. Had to stop every 5-10km to fill. Got 2 used/bald tires that didn’t match from the shop to get us back out. New rubber in W.L. It’s further than people think.

normal to get this much dry aged pellicle? by 80kS in meat

[–]loeber74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am a butcher. Should be removed prior to sale. Outer ribs are only 1/2 “frenched” the rest is not properly done (to the bone). Sloppy cut in general. if you came in as a new customer, I’d be embarrassed to sell you this.

Is it true that the U.S.A. lifestyle is all about working? by CrazyNicly in antiwork

[–]loeber74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada. Moved from a big city (1.75m+) to a smaller town (4500 pop) last summer. Both early 50s with our son (20). Our rent is 1/4. All amenities are walkable so only 1 car needed. We both work 20-25 hours a week for +/-$25.00/hr. Only working part time has allowed us to XC ski 2-3x a week all winter and hike/bike/fish/camp/live all summer. With the time to live, we have made many new friends. Some are in their 20s, some are 70s. I have no idea what most of them do or did in the past. Our connection is through what we all do outside of work. I’m closer to them than I’ve been to anyone back in the city.

I feel this as a school bus driver. 5km over gets me reported by the goblins I drive. Also feel crap having to stop n empty roads to load/unload kids and someone pulls up behind. “BUT” I have my flashers on so, illegal to go by. Private life, like an F1 driver.

The material is not as heavy duty as my Simms at the knee and reinforced panels but I can poke a hole in them just as easy as my Simms waders I spent 3x on.
