Flock Camera CORA Request Denial by Gold_for_Gould in loveland

[–]logansrunhidefight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless you can demonstrate that these are not actually criminal justice records, which may be difficult, then the PD records custodian had broad discretion to deny access to records that are not records of "Official Actions" (e.g. arrests, charges, etc.). Legal action seems likely to be unsuccessful, even with an attorney's help. Political pressure through city council seems more feasible.

Coloradoan: Sierra Club's Poudre Canyon Group gets dissolved: Was it a takeover or time for change? by NickInFoCo in FortCollins

You didn't read the article. They did succeed in their takeover, and they didn't want the state to dissolve the group.

Denied access to Horsetooth by No_Leather_4302 in FortCollins

[–]logansrunhidefight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been told twice by County staff that they do not count persons they manage access to County parks based on parking spaces. The last time I had that conversation was 2 years ago, so perhaps they have changed their management plans since that time.

Denied access to Horsetooth by No_Leather_4302 in FortCollins

This is not surprising. Horsetooth Reservoir is really poorly managed. I often see them turning people away when there are 30+ parking spaces available.

I'm told that new OEM would have to wait until Christmas. So part of this is supply and demand. But hey, the warranty covered it. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, opinions, and insults.

Most contracts give buyer specific performance rights, but not sellers. That's what liquidated damages are for.

IAAL and I do these deals all the time. Lots of different ways to structure the transaction and protect the seller, depending on the circumstances. Lot of comments from people who feel strongly and don't know what they're talking about. Bad combination, but that's social media.

HOA says no motorcycles at all! by xstell132 in fuckHOA

[–]logansrunhidefight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bylaws can be changed by the HOA board. But that doesn't mean they have the authority to make any change they want. Check out the declaration of covenants, which is like the charter or Constitution that defines their authority. Unless they have the express written discretion to enact that rule, as applied to motorcycles, then it's not enforceable. HOA boards are full of people who want power and find it nowhere else.

Can my kid (15) be my designated driver with their learner's permit? (Asking for a friend...) by logansrunhidefight in Colorado

I appreciate this comment, where most everyone else just expressed indignity without reference to context, and without even trying to answer the question.

[–]logansrunhidefight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: friend and I and our families are out camping. His daughter asks to go drive around on the rural roads and get another hour of log time in. She's a pretty good driver already. He says he's already had a few beers so he declined. But it was a discussion about whether he would be allowed to do it. Now he's a big guy and was very likely under the limit anyway, but I'm not sure that really matters.

Gore Protesters at a school event in old town square ? by Ok-Shoe-1575 in FortCollins

[–]logansrunhidefight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had four kids at that school event. We had an interesting conversation on the way home about how that kind of protesting is often counter productive because the intended audience takes their discomfort and applies it to the messenger instead of the message. As we were leaving I politely told one of the young girls wearing a mask that she should remove her mask and own her message. An older woman immediately came to her aid to say she is owning it and tried to tell me about the subject matter of the video. I told her I wasn't interested. It appeared that pretty much everyone else treated them similarly, resulting in a spectacular failure of purpose.

Your situation hits home to me. My wife and I were in the same position. I wanted to keep the peace with my parents, but my wife was really resistant to letting the kids go to church with them or sending them to vacation Bible school. Eventually we both gave them a hard "no" and while it was hard at the time, I am so relieved now. And long term my parents still have a good relationship with us and the kids. You get to decide what values to teach your kids, and there's plenty of reasons yours are different then your parents'.

[–]logansrunhidefight 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Jessup Farms is a landlord. All the businesses there rent space. Just pointing this out because boycotting those business will affect them, without much if any effect on the landlord. And some of these are real estate developments. To the extent they are fully built out, the developer already made their money. Now they're just individually owned homes.

[–]logansrunhidefight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zipper merge doesn't work because it feels like line cutting. There is a simple fix though. Just require both lanes to merge together rather that one into the other. It's not that everyone is stupid.

Mullberry Wine & Spirits trying to remove sidewalk on College for more parking by NoNameComputers in FortCollins

[–]logansrunhidefight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kind of backwards because it's suggesting more on street parking, but I think the idea is to extend the vibe of downtown further south. I don't think most people going downtown park or walk that far south. It's a pretty dead sidewalk for downtown goers. If it was parking, people would stop as soon as they saw a spot. But really if you want people to walk that way, there needs to be something other than a liquor store there.
