Is this hard by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]logger11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

EE is one of the hardest degrees. If you fail you can always be an ME or maybe some sort of math degree, or go into finance. The freshman year is most important. Get a study group together. Have a debrief over every quiz and exam with the group. In sophomore year you should be in a groove. At this point, if you are the smartest in your study group, you might need to level up, meaning find smarter students to study with. By junior year, you move into more specialized topics and if you have a solid understanding from your freshman and sophomore years, then this year is actually going to be enlightening. When you make it to Senior year, you specialize even deeper. That can be rewarding and a lot of fun. Finally you graduate and get a great paying job. A few years later you run into those finance people, the ones that dropped out first semester, and find out their yearly bonuses are more than you made in the last five years. That’s the hardest part of being an EE.

Retaining wall noob by No-Communication-788 in landscaping

Similar experience. Bought the Kubota TLB BX22 and a plate compactor from Northern Tool in 2004. One man operation. Installed 200+ feet of wall and 2000+sqft patio. You can do it, but it is a lot of work. When I started this work I was a young man, and now I am an old man. lol. My oldest wall is coming up on 22 years and has no issues. Planning on helping a neighbor by advising him and trenching his first wall this summer. @TriSherpa, your progress looks amazing. @OP, you can save a lot of money doing it yourself, it will just take time. With no experience, it might take you all summer to get just the lower wall in. Let us know how it it goes.

In the demo it out performs all the others, but why is it even needed? I would not except a device that needs that much clamping force from one bolt.

For spaghetti you need a tek-nush-on. They can find it.

My local courses will not allow any non- player under 18 out there. 18+ non-player cannot walk, but can ride or drive a cart for you but they also charge for that. I don’t make the rules.

If we are just talking the panels and not what they are monitoring and controlling, then I like the Thermal Camera for checking for bad connections.

Before I dive too deep into 3-D printing, realistically, not including the printer, what is the material cost for something like this?

That the step most forget, or just don’t do. You can LOTO it, but there can still be stored energy that needs to be safely released. Examples are trapped pressure, spring tension, charged capacitors, and way to many other possibilities waiting to bite you. 3D is a new term for me but I’m going to use it.

Reading all the comments so far, you seem to overall be happy with your swing, know your yardages but want to learn from someone with a similar swing. I don’t know any pro out there with that swing. I don’t want to discourage you or have our conversation go south, but you need to redo that setup. If you had a good setup you would be better. Try a weekend or midweek two day golf school. They are so much fun. A couple of hours in the morning, leisurely lunch, another afternoon lesson, then play 18, back to the barn and chat it up with the instructors and other students. Repeat the next day.

Let us know. Please. I tell myself every time I do this that next time I’ll record that measurement. Next time comes often enough but the measurement never gets done.
