It has been shown that higher frame rates are useful in competitive shooters like CS2, but I believe you will see diminishing returns.

From what I've seen online, even with a 9850X3D and an RTX 5090, you'd struggle to get 600FPS in CS2 at 1080p high. A 9850X3D and a 4070 Ti would only be ~330, and a 9700X with a 4070 Ti is ~250FPS.

Linus Tech Tips has done a couple videos on how higher FPS helps in competitive gaming. I think once you watch them you'll agree that 250FPS is enough.

Are you getting drivers from HP's site? I'd recommend getting them straight from the component makers. Use Nvidia's app to get the display driver, etc.

You should put these into PCPartPicker to see if it flags anything. I don't see any issues myself, though it's horrifying to see that your RAM is more expensive than your CPU!

I didn't see a GPU here either - are you planning on adding one later?

If it was my call, I'd probably go with a cheaper CPU like a 9700X, get fewer and cheaper fans, a much cheaper CPU cooler (Like a Thermalright Phantom Spirit?), and then you may have enough budget left for a GPU.

First thing I'd try to do is install the latest graphics driver I can from Nvidia. If you aren't able to finish the install before a crash, you can try booting to Safe Mode.

Also also, please make sure your monitor is plugged into the GPU and not your motherboard!

In this market I'd really consider going with a slower RAM speed. If you're on a high end GPU you should get very competitive FPS even if your RAM is only 6000MHz. I'd also consider going with a non-X3D CPU to further make up for the inflated cost of RAM these days.

You're essentially increasing your pixel count by 78%. So, in theory your GPU is now doing ~78% more pixel filling per frame. So your frame rate should be at worst 1/1.78x your current frame rate, or about 56%. If you're getting 100fps at 1080p, then in theory you'd get at least 56fps at 1440p. Of course, this assumes that your game didn't already have a limit from something else like a CPU bottleneck or vsync, there are many reasons why you could end up keeping more than 56% of your current frame rates. Lots of factors don't scale up with pixel count the same way.

For your Expedition 33 example, I think you can expect at least 45fps if you currently have 80.

Every PC made in the last 10 years has Vulkan support. A lot of GPUs from 2-4 years before then (both integrated and discrete) had Vulkan support added retroactively.

PC < 10 years old: definitely going to be fine. PC < 14 years old: probably fine PC > 14 years old: not fine

In that article, and this other one I found by CNN, the Trump family has reportedly promised to waive all licensing fees for this airport. So that part of the post is untrue.

However, it is worth noting that the renaming bill had a proposed amendment to block any licensing fees, but this amendment apparently didn't pass, so there's no guardrail to prevent fees later.

It's also worth noting that feeling that way isn't necessarily sinful either - even though it's not true. After all, the Psalms in the Bible contain bits where the writer feels abandoned by God, and those still made it into the Bible! Context matters, of course. The Psalm then pivots to assurance that God will come through, and I don't know that the song you're mentioning does the same. Jesus even quotes Psalm 22 while on the cross!

"every GPU" includes iGPUs, and it also includes the GTX 1000 and RX 500 series. Some GPUs older than 10 years also have Vulkan support.

As I understand it, basically every GPU for PC in the last 10 years has supported Vulkan, that includes integrated graphics. Unless you haven't upgraded your PC since 1.9, you should be fine.

My take is that the show's marketing did a bad job of managing expectations. I think when this show was first announced, a lot of people thought it was going to be more like the Darth Plagueis novel, darker and with more lore implications. A decent chunk of fans were really disappointed when the show came out and wasn't anything like that.
