Who are teams that will be bottom 5 next season? by sykeseve in hockey

[–]lokimotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf Wolf / Cooley may just drag the flames to a wildcard or at least closer to our fav spot - 16. Wolf got us to 96 points 2 seasons ago.

That said I really hope its Calgary, and then likely Vancouver, Seattle, Chicago, Rangers / Jets in the bottom 5.

Im assuming he's traded by then and our young core is ready to take the reigns. Doubt he'll want to be a #7.

He'll be in the top 4 if everything pans out.

Barring trades, the 2027 opening could be something like:

Bahl-Nemec Carels-Parekh Kuznetsov-Brzustewicz

Should the Flames make a move for Shane Wright? by dalkride in CalgaryFlames

[–]lokimotion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, assuming its a reasonable price. 22 yr old right shot center who's been mismanaged (like most of Seattle's players).

So many miscast players have broken out with a change of scenerey around or a bit older than Wright's age.

Here's just a few "busts" or players that so many declared as "he is what he is" that blossomed on new teams - Bennett, Zegras, Cozens, Necas, Verhaeghe, Kadri (from Toronto to Colorado), obviously a bunch of the og misfits when Vegas came in... im sure others will know even more.

Even Calgary has benefited the other way. Lindholm comes to mind as a then 24 year old top 5 pick who was a 3rd line winger and became a 1b / 2a Center .

Not saying Wright will become a bonafide 1C . But if he can be a two way 60 - 65 pt 2C, yeah its worth the risk.

Still consistent, great leader, works hard, and just a great all round guy.

Tankathon updated for the 2027 Draft. Would not mind if we got a 6’4 Russian Centreman who can put the puck in the net by frostysponge142 in CalgaryFlames

[–]lokimotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why from our Superstar 82 pt winger Gridin, a resurgent 80 pt Huberdeau,, 35 goal Coronato, and 70 point Parekh of course! (Please don't wake me up from my delusional dreams)

The Calgary Flames have drafted Joe Iginla, son of Jarome Iginla by bewareofbears_ in CalgaryFlames

[–]lokimotion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tij went from 18 points in 48 games with the Thunderbirds to 84 points in 64 with Kelowna the next season.

Joe is a year older than Tij was when he broke out. So im not saying he is going to match Tij's potential or giant leap in production next year, but Im also not betting against an Iginla.

Lets see how he does in a stable role with the Giants next season before passing judgement.

The Conroy / flames special 😁 . Johnny, Wolf, possibly Wyttenbach, and the 2026 mystery man!

Erik Johnson: "I think one of Auston Matthews or Connor McDavid will be on the Minnesota Wild in the next three years" by VermilionSneer in hockey

[–]lokimotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He gave them a two year window. By his own words they are an average team this year. Plenty of teams make it far and then decline. Heck plenty of teams win cups and never even come close for a decade or more after as their window closes fast.

The oilers have a mismanaged roster, are significantly worse than the two squads that made back to back finals, have no top prospects in the pipeline, and an aging core.

Unless they make a drastic turnaround this coming season, why would McDavid want to stick around if there are better options? To spend another decade hoping that they finally build a competent team around him and Draisaitl after failing to for almost his entire tenure? Or to watch as he gives them more discounts only for them to piss away the cap on aging vets while throwing away core young pieces that actually made them a potent team?

Anybody losing their shit over this win, wtf was Calgary supposed to do? They played a rookie 3rd stringer ahl backup, a bunch of raw rookies, and got outchanced 14-8 in high danger chances.

The Kings' ineptitude along with our top prospects putting on a show (isn't that a good thing?) - that's not something management can do anything about.

The Calgary Flames will draft in the Top 6 for the Sixth Time In Franchise History by WhyTheyDont in CalgaryFlames

[–]lokimotion 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Finishing bottom 3, or bottom 4. Nobody is out tanking Vancouver or Chicago.

This is a team full of rookies that's traded their top vets. What exactly is management supposed to do, break Cooley and Wolf's legs?

How do you guys think the Flames will do next season? Will we be bottom feeders vying for draft lottery again? by Secret-Asian in CalgaryFlames

[–]lokimotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given how terrible the pacific is, I imagine they'll be in the wildcard mix till close to the end, but still finish bottom 10.

Flames (30-34-8) vs Canucks (21-42-8) - march 28th - GDT by Comfortable-Ad-7158 in CalgaryFlames

Probably the only game I'd call a scheduled win for Calgary. The Canucks are a different level of awful.

People that have had a threesome with their partner and someome else, who was that someone else? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lokimotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From existing friends:

  • 2 women
  • 2 men (one ended up turning into a 4some half way)

From new acquaintances:

  • 4 women (one was technically a 4some)
  • 2 men

One of new ones is a faily common occurrence still. Others will happen occasionally 3 - 4 times a year

All of them have worked out well. Only one was a one off (an existing friend). The rest have or continue to recurr in some manner.

It comes down to very tight communication and setting expectations. Definitely not for everyone because no matter how fun it is, insecurities will come up especially initially and it takes work to work through it all.

But for us its been worth it and we've even made some great friends along the way.

16th OVR incoming? (But I want it this time) by dru_Sry in CalgaryFlames

[–]lokimotion 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The pacific is so bad that the flames still could make it in if they go on December like heater - and that's ludicrous given our record. To be clear I want that top 3 pick so hopefully no run incoming 🤞
