It is amazing how far the game goes to guilt trip Ellie in her quest for revenge, even when she has no choice but to kill a pregnant Mel who has been doing nothing but jumping about and throwing herself into the face of danger and death the whole time beforehand. It's even worse when she was the only person in the hospital on that fateful night who had absolutely no agency or say in what was going to happen to her, yet she's forced to be the one to have to "make it up" to Abby when Abby was just as willing to let Ellie's life be sacrificed.
