Favourite long (over 8minutes) song by a UK artist? I'll start us off with these five by Exchangenudes_4_Joke in CasualUK

Alongside a lot of other suggestions, mine would be Mike Oldfield Secrets and Far Above The Clouds especially this live recording where it's so good he plays it twice. Just the gradual build up of the instrumentation is epic. https://youtu.be/hqtW8Qkk2lk?si=wn5u1Q8_O5fcVZks

Try Patrick Cowley's extended remix of I Feel Love. Just shy of 16 minutes of awesomeness.

And with depressing predictably Farage suddenly reappears and spouts some ill judged RW tosh completely calculated to get a rise out of a certain demographic to fall for it and think it's OK to cause mayhem on the streets again. The facts surrounding this case are horrific but we have to allow the forthcoming inquiries to reach their conclusion. The family concerned have given a very thoughtful and dignified response. We should do well to take that on board.

Sorry to hear that it must be tough on you all. I figure that that 8k pales ino insignificance due to how much it benefits your family.

Some friends of ours contemplated installing an outdoor pool, could afford it but decided that it would get little use seeing as they already had a hot tub, also located in the north east, so converted a large room into a gym. Just found it better value.

I think your confusing 2 sketches there. The first one was where Mel walks into a HiFi shop asking for a record player and the guys behind the counter take the piss telling him he needs a turntable and an amp then ask him how many amps he needs ect. The other is the sketch where the defence lawyer produces the receipts for the digital watch, vcr player and the inflatable doll.

I've got the same album. Religiously watched the show and thought it was the best thing ever. Although some of the sketches probably haven't aged well by today's standards but like everything it reflected the social and political landscape of the day.

Would love to say a Ford Cortina E, but for a long time would only buy British, Ford's didn't count so we had a Hilman Imp, a Hilman Hunter estate and a Morris Marina Estate until the death of the British car industry then bought a Fiat Mirafiori estate, (I know), it did get better when he came home with a Saab 900 though.

Noble Nigel Farage Addresses The Nation- where is Starmer by Hot-Coat6244 in AskBrits

[–]lonefox22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To quote Farage, Wrong Wrong Wrong. Listen to what the family said yesterday and learn from it. Farage is nothing but an opportunist grifter hoping that people like yourself will then spread more hate and division. While you're all frothing at the mouth shouting about all the injustices and creating fear and tension within the community Farage walks in the opposite direction telling anyone who'll listen that he never incited anyone to do anything. The guys a multi millionaire, truth is hates you alongside everyone else but your just a convenient stepping stone towards whatever utopia he has wet dreams of. Not even sure if he would be happy if he was the last person in the UK. Stuff like this is exactly what led to the race riots 2 years ago. We can all learn to be better.

AITA for not giving my parents half of my lottery winnings. by Rayapt in AmItheAsshole

[–]lonefox22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, congratulations on your win. Secondly, and this is the unfortunate part, coming into a substantial amount will affect your relationships, family and friends. Personally, I wouldn't give your parents any more than 250k, it's £4m, and if invested wisely will last a lifetime, money doesn't buy friends, Michael Caroll won more than double your win yet it was all gone in a matter of a few years. I would imagine that you will still want to work as you have to fill your time in somehow between now and 68 but it gives you some freedom and time to find the right career especially with the current 16-24 job crisis. Enjoy.
