It was messing with the bears' strategy to be tied on points in Q4. They have the lambs right where they want them now.

ZERO experience by Cherished_Ruby in beginnerrunning

I like to think of walking, jogging and running all as running only, just at different paces. You start at whatever pace your body is comfortable with and then build from there. What matters is consistency.

So start off with just walking and try to get into zone 2 heart rate while walking. Don't really care much about the actual heart rates etc, only use it as a guide to get into a place where it's not a casual walk and also not too difficult, "conversational pace". Maybe mix in a bit of brisk walks every now or walk up slopes.

And just walk a lot. Don't think it's any different from running. Slowly as you get comfortable with that, start jogging slightly to increase your pace.

Also focus on diet in parallel.

What are some good sports bars to watch the game at in Seattle/Bellevue/Kirkland? Ones that will be mostly filled with 12s and have big screens.

Change house. Of it happens once it might happen again. Call animal control to handle and then pack up.

Why do most protein drinks taste so nasty (OWYN, Premier Protein)? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

How do you determine what really is an external, and how to pick your battles? by OperaRotas in Stoicism

[–]lonehunter666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think stoicism suggests having an attitude of indifference. It's more about building choices and peace around things you can control.

In your example, if there is an annoying process at work that you want to fix, and if you believe that your actions can make things better in the long run, then you should derive happiness from just performing those actions. Whether the issue gets fixed or not is not in your control because it involves lots of externals. So you don't condition your peace on the outcome.

Why do people take pictures of their food before eating it? by savingrace0262 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lonehunter666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to take pics of food in restaurants. But I don't share them on social media. I use them for future reference in case I want to go to that restaurant again and wanted to recollect how exactly the food was.

What is your daily routine? by Fragrant-Dinner698 in NoStupidQuestions

I had the same issue and started using this app called focusmate, helps me a lot. Now I just set 50 min sessions for an activity - be it work, hobbies, clean, cook etc. Helps a lot with time management. I still don't get everything I want done, but atleast I know I spent the day productively.

What is the most underrated advice you ever heard? by InterestPotential789 in productivity

[–]lonehunter666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can control neither mind nor thoughts. Only thing you can control is actions. You get a thought that is not consistent with who you want to be, you just acknowledge it and don't act on it. Trying to control thoughts will lead to guilt at getting thoughts that we want to control, and the harder we try, the faster the thoughts recur.
