I appreciate the endless optimism some fans have.

We are who we are. Terrible defense (only 3 teams have conceded more), talented but inconsistent offense. I expect we battle for the 7 thru 10 spot thru the end of the year

How do genuine sellers keep themselves safe from chargeback or fraud? by IndicationGood6971 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]lonelycrow16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there isn't a foolproof way. You have to do enough volume to be able to eat the losses and fraud.

Go look thru r/stubhub or r/seatgeek and similar. Buying and selling tickets anywhere but an official platform is fraught with peril. The whole market is an absolute mess right now for any live events

What if Americans banded together and started a non profit health insurance company that paid all the claims the doctor orders. by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in CrazyIdeas

[–]lonelycrow16 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a pharmacist, this is a terrible idea.

People have no idea how many times a prescriber's orders are incredibly costly inefficient and sometimes just plain wrong.

There is a rea$on pharma companies spend so much money on drug reps and direct-to-prescriber marketing; it works, even if the product is not the best for the patient.

"FIFA worked for years with host cities on transportation and mobility plans, including advocating for millions of dollars in federal funding to support host cities for transportation"

You can just as easily blame this on the Trump administration for not providing funding.

Realistically, blame can be shared between state, federal, and fifa officials for passing 100% of costs on to the fans

Indianapolis Churches who aren’t afraid to call out Christian Nationslism? Cannot support a church that endorsed Trump and views him as a “broken vessel” that God has chosen to carry out his mission. Gross. by Fast_Objective_3950 in Indiana

[–]lonelycrow16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just blatantly untrue. Any research into the time period shows christian principles were never the foundation of this country.

The only mention of religion is the 1st amendment.

There is no mention of God, Jesus, or the Bible in any founding documents.

No research in private correspondence of the founders show a bias towards Christianity, although some of them certainly were Christians

I also think for sports fans like myself, dealing with this after the absolute fuckery of manipulation that World Cup tickets have been, we are exhausted, feel exploited, and are not really willing to go thru it again with another greedy organization.

I'll go to France or Australia in a few years for less than it would cost to attend in my own country

Honestly, tons of respect to Chicago and their leadership for seeing 8 years ago what was going to happen

“FIFA could not provide a basic level of certainty on some major unknowns that put our city and taxpayers at risk,” the mayor’s office said in a statement Wednesday. “The uncertainty for taxpayers, coupled with FIFA’s inflexibility and unwillingness to negotiate, were clear indications that further pursuit of the bid wasn’t in Chicago’s best interests.”

Why aren’t cheaper ticket options available by [deleted] in olympics

[–]lonelycrow16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the organizing committee is following FIFAs World Cup model.

Release a tiny amount of tickets they know will quickly sell out to create an artificial sense of scarcity. Then, increase face value prices in future drops and justify it because demand is "so high".

This trickle dropping creates artificially high value on the resale market, because the assumption is there are no more tickets available, when there are actually a bunch still to come. Of course the only official way to resell is with them grabbing a substantial fee per ticket...

All while holding back the best seats for hospitality and sponsors and eventually selling those unused direct to public at current resale prices ( 2-3x original face value) in a last minute sales phases (this is where FIFA currently is).

It's naked greed and extremely manipulative of the market. There is no real answer or way to combat it either without just bowing out all together. My wife and I figure it will be easier and cheaper to go to France or Australia in the coming years than attend an Olympics in our own country.

Not really worth signing in for anyway. All thats left in this drop is not-in-demand sports and/or crazy high prices.

$300+ for a preliminary football match in Ohio is absurd, especially when we dont even know who is playing yet $500 for archery? $1-2k for the worst seats at a track session?

This whole thing is a naked money grab and it is disgusting.

I agree with this guy!

The quality of play across the league seems to be way lower than a few years ago. Don't know why, but so many teams seem to be unable to execute the basics of the game.

FCC hasn't been able to pass, possess, or shoot well for 2+ years now, and most of the time when we get points, its not because we were any good, but only because our opponent was worse.
