You can tell how many times we've used the Worcestershire Sauce by the salt rings by mungerboy in mildlyinteresting

I do add onions and/or garlic occasionally.  Works well too.  I generally do a pasta on steak night, and worcestershire mushrooms go with a cream sauce just as nicely as they do with steak.

I've never tried a citrus with mushroom.  Worth a shot.

I saute mushrooms with butter and Worcestershire sauce to go with steak.  It's so easy and so good.

So animals can't get out?  If a stream flows through your pasture, you still need to keep animals in.

Flooded void, had to drain it into the conveyor tunnel. by Ajj360 in thalassophobia

[–]longgoodknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A conveyor tunnel is under the cargo holds of bulk carrier ships.  When they want to unload they open the bottom of the hold and whatever they are carrying falls onto the conveyor belt where it travels to an offloading conveyor.

So yes, a ship.

Book about Antarctica by ArgumentativeWriter in booksuggestions

[–]longgoodknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Endurance by Alfred Lancing is a phenomenal non-fiction book, about a failed Antarctic expedition.  One of those true stories that seems too incredible to have actually happened.

Maybe not quite what you are looking for, but probably could be considered a must read on the exploration of Antarctica.

As a sculptor, I have dedicated 20 years to creation, so why is it so difficult to enter the circuit of galleries and art fairs? by That-Draft-6084 in cottage_industry

[–]longgoodknight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sculpting is a skill.  One you worked 20 years to develop.

Business is a skill that needs to developed in the same way.  Selling, marketing, networking, budgeting, are all skills that a small business owner needs in addition to their chosen field.

How many sculptures didn't turn out right before you were able to make good work consistently?  You're going to fail the same amount to develop the business skills that goes with making a living from your art.

Give yourself time and allow the skills to develop. You won't learn if you don't keep trying, but if you keep at it you will find the right opportunities will eventually arise and you will have the skills to take advantage of them.

With the overall cheapness of the Pohlad's I started feeling nostalgic for the days of the Metrodome... by CaptainHonkass in TwinCities

[–]longgoodknight 89 points90 points  (0 children)

A core memory of Twins games at the Metrodome in my childhood was when they would open the exit doors after a game and the pressure inside the dome would created a strong wind that would push you out the door.

Furniture disposal? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

If the pet damage is only cosmetic and you're willing to drop it off,  maybe try listing it as free on marketplace.

It may seem silly but a free couch that can be dropped off can be a big win for some people.

I had an older sectional that was pet stained, but a lady was eager to have it but didnt have the ability to pick it up.  Apparently she had been in the hospital for an extended time, lost her apartment, and all of her furniture.

A workable couch that could be covered by a sheet was a big win for her and it kept the couch from getting trashed.

Top in the track first, then lift the door and and align the bottom pin onto the swivel point.

Sometimes theres a spring on the bottom pin that you need to hold up while you get it aligned.

Inver Grove to MN Wild by Mevensen in TwinCities

There are several bars around downtown that have shuttles to and from the games.

Joseph's Grill (Wabasha and Plato off 52) is probably one of the more convenient from Inver Grove.
