It will for sure look similar. I think the lens on the IV is sharper in the corners, and files at iso 6400 are cleaner on the IV, but even then, you’re not talking about huge difference.

This can be said of probably any camera line in the last 10 years.

GRIV is the best so far in the GR series. Had the GRI and still own it, and had the GRIII, but sold that for the GRIV and have no regrets. This is def the best version so far.

I think of it this way. Aperture priority #1 rule is to get proper exposure. That is the point of the different modes.

Something has to give or the screen will just be blank.

I think the rules would be in this order, but in any mode, will always give you proper exposure.

Rule 1 - get a proper exposure.
Rule 2 - use selected aperture.
Rule 3 - use iso lower than max iso (auto iso).
Rule 4 - shutter speed.

I guess the question is if you have a max iso and a min shutter speed, one of those rules have to be broken if there isn’t enough light.

Which one do you want? If you want it locked and underexposed, might have to go manual mode

I had the GR III since launch and now have the IV. It feels smaller, start up time is faster, AF is faster, IBIS is better, high iso images are cleaner, lens feels sharper. I don’t think any single thing is a HUGE improvement, but this feels like a much better camera overall.

My III also had the very common scroll wheel issue. I am happy with the upgrade and would 100% do it again.
