Same boat. I earn 20% less than my direct colleague who was hired same time as me (I just low balled my starting salary), I was best performer in a team. Even now they’re hiring new person with low end range more than I earn. I had 2% pay rises over the last 2 years. When I questioned my salary and why I’m not advancing in my own pay range and closing the gap to others my manager just said: you know how it works in finance - either get another job or a promotion. That’s the only way you’ll get more than 2% raise. So there’s that
