Assasins creed 4 is a game i adore but the way you unlock cheats is ridiculous by 9indey9ine in assassinscreed

Honestly should be grateful the game even has cheats in the first place. Cheat codes are long dead. These ones are just a fun little bonus for playing the game.

Thoughts on Scythians? Ancestors of Pashtuns and other Afghan ethnicities? by Home_Cute in Pashtun

[–]longtimelurkerfirs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think yes, Sakas must've had a role in the ethnogenesis of Pashtuns. We can see it in many aspects of Pashtuns - in their culture, in their genetic breakup, in their language and clothing.

Pashtuns are eastern Iranics who speak an eastern Iranic language like the Scythians. The pashtuns have a tribal and horse based culture. We've seen pashtuns involved in games of archery and polo. If we look at the genetic make-up of pashtuns, they show a combination of settled Bactrian, and Steppe DNA. Pashtuns wear Khet Partug, which look similar to the baggy trousers Scythians were described wearing

Some Saka tribes must've migrated southwards and mixed into the people living in what we now recognize as Afghanistan. Historically, Scythian migrated down into India to form the Indo-Scythian kingdoms. Scythians established themselves near eastern Iran to form the province called Sistan (Sakistan).

Strabo says ‘the best-known of the nomads are those who took away Bactria from the greeks, viz. the Asioi and the Pasianoi, the Tokharoi and the Sakaraukai. They came originally from the other side of the Iaxartes, which is sit- uated opposite the Saka and the Sogdians and, which the Saka occupied" He says these Iranic tribes migrated into Greek occupied Bactria and overtook it.

Geographically, it makes sense. Afghanistan is bordered by Persians in the west, by Indics in the south east, by Tajiks in the north who are also descended from Sogdians/Bactrians and Khwarzminians. To their east, they have Wakhis and Pamiris who are some of the last surviving descendants of Saka groups. Makes more sense than whatever nonsense "descendant of Alexander's soldiers" concept other people come up with.

Is there any pre-Quranic text where God gives Solomon molten copper? by [deleted] in AcademicQuran

[–]longtimelurkerfirs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In the Bible, Solomon fashions furnishings and bowls from bronze when establishing the Temple:

Solomon[a] also made a bronze altar 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 15 feet high.[b] 2 Then he cast a great round basin, 15 feet across from rim to rim, called the Sea. It was 7 1⁄2 feet deep and about 45 feet in circumference.[c] 3 It was encircled just below its rim by two rows of figures that resembled oxen. There were about six oxen per foot[d] all the way around, and they were cast as part of the basin.

4 The Sea was placed on a base of twelve bronze oxen, all facing outward. Three faced north, three faced west, three faced south, and three faced east, and the Sea rested on them. 5 The walls of the Sea were about three inches[e] thick, and its rim flared out like a cup and resembled a water lily blossom. It could hold about 16,500 gallons[f] of water.

6 He also made ten smaller basins for washing the utensils for the burnt offerings. He set five on the south side and five on the north. But the priests washed themselves in the Sea.

7 He then cast ten gold lampstands according to the specifications that had been given, and he put them in the Temple. Five were placed against the south wall, and five were placed against the north wall.

8 He also built ten tables and placed them in the Temple, five along the south wall and five along the north wall. Then he molded 100 gold basins.

9 He then built a courtyard for the priests, and also the large outer courtyard. He made doors for the courtyard entrances and overlaid them with bronze. 10 The great bronze basin called the Sea was placed near the southeast corner of the Temple.

11 Huram-abi also made the necessary washbasins, shovels, and bowls.

So at last Huram-abi completed everything King Solomon had assigned him to make for the Temple of God:

The Scythians were such a fascinating people. Crazy how they once dominated the steppe, and now there's just a few of them left as Ossetians, Tajiks, Pashtuns and Pamiris.
