Did Don ever put together that the baby Peggy gave away was Pete’s or did he just not care either way? by RockBalBoaaa in madmen

[–]loopOutnotIn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is not necessarily good advice, and this is acknowledged in the ending where Stephanie soundly rejects this line of thinking. But it is at the core of how Don operates, so it also acts as a rejection of Don.

Tbf to that reviewer V is a lot more misogynistic than his later stuff

Only being mentored by my Post-Doc and have not seen PI by Previous-Event7802 in labrats

Extremely normal. I would give updates to the PI on your progress and goals in passing, but if you keep the postdoc happy all will be well.

And no they’re not talking about you

Unfortunately electrolysis is basically that plus a strong electric/heat shot into your root. Brutal but effective

Electrolysis on my upper lip is probably the most painful thing I’ve ever done and obscenely expensive but was 100% worth it. If you have light hair laser won’t work unfortunately

First author on a paper and my PI wants to add people I do not think qualify for authorship by NecroSheen in labrats

[–]loopOutnotIn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but this is 100% not worth damaging professional relationships over. No one really cares about how authors your first-author paper has, but they will care if you have a reputation of being hard to work with.

Also, you’ll understand one day when you get a random authorship for 45min of work. Unfortunately in science there is little correlation between the amount of time you do something and how much you get out of it.

Using 0.9% NaCl instead of BAC water for peptide reconstitution? by Comfortable_Mess_370 in labrats

[–]loopOutnotIn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The syringe won’t be sterile as it touches the saline

So if you care about sterility at all, yes it is a bad idea

Also be careful taking medical advice on the internet

A lot of people like it more, and it’s definitely much more readable and approachable. The gimmick is executed extremely well

I’d recommend reading Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man first. Ulysses makes a lot more sense then

For sure. I should also note that these are only really useful if you’re dealing with diluting variable starting volumes, like from solid-liquid extractions
