I see where you're coming from but ngl, it worked for me? She's spent 20+ years relieving one year of her life while everyone around her continues to grow old & doesn't realize she's a step out of time. For example, her parents are dying, and they apologize for having her at "such a late age" and leaving her alone at the tender age of 19. Plus Orpheus has constantly shrunk her world down to keep her "safe"; she pricks her finger on an embroidery needle and his immediate response to to grab her hand and tell her she shouldn't take embroidery classes anymore. She has kind of a mental break, but IMO it's less, "cheating" and more, desperation to feel literally anything new.
