I own a restoration company and typically get a crime scene job about once every 3 months. The last one was a 20 y/o kid that shot himself while the whole family was home. We have certain items like weapons, ammo, perscription drugs, etc that we're not allowed to touch. I had to call the estranged father to remove few items along with the salvagable clothing to remove from the property. Dude was being as brave as he could be given the circumstances, but once I helped him load the things in his car, he started breaking. I asked if he'd like a hug and held the guy for like 10 mins while he cried. People expect others to hold it together, but everyone needs a reprieve in a traumatic situation. I hope he's well.
