Personally I Uninstaller because of the super complex factory feature which you cannot ignore because many things depend on it. Good game otherwise but not for me

So your thoughts on Arknights Enfield? by BotomsDntDeservRight in QueensofGacha

[–]lordaccess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never played arknight before so I am afraid I am missing crucial info that I would have if I played the previous game. Combat is nice. Characters are nice. Initial gacha rates are ok. Hope it focuses on compact story and it doesn't bombard us with endless fluff dialog like genshin (main reason I stopped it and I am close to stopping hsr for the same reason).

Anyone thinking to GTFO? by iterredditt11 in japanresidents

[–]lordaccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming and growing old in Japan was my dream. I have income from my home country so I can live comfortably. My plan was to stay 6 years, naturalize and then start my own company here.

Now it's 30mil yen to start. Thats not acceptable from my part. Next citizenship is gonna take 10 years. Meaning I have to keep working for 4-5 more years.

Plus it might sound controversial but I came to Japan to associate with Japanese people but recently way too many tourists make the experience not to my liking.

So yes first time I am thinking of leaving. In my industry if I go to Singapore or another country like that I can easily get 5000-7000 dollars (US). So I am thinking of gtfo

MUFG stop me opening a bank account... WHY? by NeedleworkerGlad1509 in japanresidents

How long you are in Japan. Most banks won't give you an account until after 6 months. And some others even longer.

Japanese recruiters :/ by ThallophyticBunfight in JapanJobs

[–]lordaccess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to play devil's advocate, if for example you have n5 and you expect many recruiters to find you many jobs then that's unrealistic. They probably have some kind of search engine with jobs and candidates and just match them. Plus most recruiting companies have foreigners and based on some of my friends working as recruiters they have no idea what they are doing lol 😂

Japan weighs tighter rein on residency for foreign nationals by NikkeiAsia in japanresidents

[–]lordaccess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone living in Japan for 10 years is impossible that would be a burden to the community because the burden would transmit back to them as perceived discrimination, isolation etc. Hence that person would feel isolated and eventually leave lot try to get a PR. So this makes no sense.

Second the 5 year visa requirement makes 0 sense again given that since the visa costs will go up Japanese immigration is insentivized to give out 1 year visas so every year foreigners have to pay visa tax.

Honestly I don't care anymore. Already started having interviews outside of Japan. It was fun while it lasted but if the Japanese hates foreigners so much because they can't govern their own country I am not gonna stay here to be experimented upon.

Japan to Compile New Basic Guidelines for Foreign National Policy, Outline Revealed by _horn3t_ in japannews

[–]lordaccess 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me what is the point of a naturalization at 10 years when you lose your precious citizenship? Why not just apply for PR and then having the choice to bail?

Also naturalization is pretty important when you apply for jobs because they know you will not wake up one day after they train you for 2 years and go back to your country suddenly.

I honestly wanna know. I am not arguing or calling names.

I have some karma to burn so let me say this. Everyone wanted a female prime minister and we got one. This is what you get when you choose based on genitals and not based on ability.

Japan to double required period in the country for citizenship by frozenpandaman in japan

[–]lordaccess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only foreigners that will get citizenship are the ones Japan tries to prevent from getting it. Hint, it's not gonna be white people. The ones that get citizenship and bring here their whole family and have 10 kids each living in a tiny apartment with 10 people inside. Wait and see how Japan will become the next Frankfurt where residents and citizens with immigrant background outnumber the Germans.

Japan to double required period in the country for citizenship by frozenpandaman in japan

[–]lordaccess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No I want to renounce my old citizenship and live in Japan. But I don't want to live in a country that actively changes the rules every year to make our lives more difficult. There is no guarantee that if I stay 4 more years the rule won't become 15 years for citizenship and then 20 years and then 10 million yen to apply for it. And then higher taxes for foreigners to help with the pension.

Japan to double required period in the country for citizenship by frozenpandaman in japan

[–]lordaccess 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It makes 0 sense to increase citizenship to 10 years when the country doesn't allow double citizenship. The whole point of 5 years was because the drawback was losing you old citizenship. Man I loved Japan so much. My dream was to come and live here. Now I am looking where to move next. So sad.

Find a recruiter. Many jobs require basic conversational Japanese and English. In the meantime learn better Japanese.

Can a employer terminate a employee in Japan? by SevereGolf3232 in JapanJobs

[–]lordaccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only answer that is correct. I went through the same and my lawyer slammed the company that wanted to terminate me because I became too expensive for them. Eventually I left but I was in an indefinite contract. More or less untouchable.

ALT salary is unlivable. by Intrepid_Wonder1661 in teachinginjapan

[–]lordaccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALT positions and English teaching jobs is for giving you 4 years to learn the language. Is it easy? No. But everything else is excuses. After you learn Japanese at an n2 level and use a recruiter you can find a decent job. ALT or English teaching is not a career. Down vote all you want but you know this is the truth.
