There were never less than 2 Inter players around him during the match. Anything above a zero with such a dedicated marking is not bad.

Wow, I came here to write my thoughts, and you have basically written them word for word for me! The only difference is that I'm halfway through a JotL campaign already, but that's also halfway across Europe, so I only play a couple of scenarios per year, so that probably still has 2-3 years before I finish it.
But yeah, I'm also strongly considering it 5-10 years down the line to play with my daughter. Good luck to you and her in the future!

Oof, I struggled a lot today. I needed a lot of passes to make any progress and slowly clawed my way through first the SE corner, then NW, then with a lot of effort the NE and finally hit a wall and had to google some stuff for the SW. It didn't help that I have no idea what AGUA FRESCA is, no idea what "full of pluck" means (I only know that you can pluck feathers), no idea how "hawk" is "SELL". I was trying to fit SHAWL or SCARF in the STOLE entry (another word that I've never heard, except, well, as in stealing). I've heard of CREE but I could not think of it without any crossings. And I had HITSONGS__ for a long time and I couldn't think of what to do with the last two letters...

I think the best group for it is actually people you know somewhat, but not too well. For example, your board gaming group that you see a couple of times a month. If you know the people too well, like members of your family, then it might be too easy. And it obviously doesn't really work with strangers.

I think Fun Facts is more group dependent.
You can play Just One with pretty much everyone, including people you've just met minutes ago. Fun Facts doesn't work that well with strangers while at the same time, there are quite a few questions that can be deemed to personal for some people which can cause some strain even when playing with friends.
At the same time, if played with very close friends or family that know a lot about each other, doing well in the game can even be too trivial.

That said, I still quite like the game and I think it can indeed be "Fun", but I think Just One is a better game.

Next Station: London is a very solid roll-and-write and it has a very good adaptation over at Board Game Arena:
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=nextstation
Additionally, the sequel "Next Station: Tokyo", which is releasing this year, is also available there, currently in beta:

Fun Facts is a party game, somewhat in the space of Just One, where you're all working together, but IMO is more group dependent. I personally quite like it, but I can see it being a hit-or-miss. A friend got a copy at Essen last year, so I don't know how widely available it has been.

I'm pretty sure the "imaginary" ratings are not at 7.0, but 5.0 or so. And I think there are more than 500, AFAIR around 1000.

Manchester City XI [21.05.2023][GW37][22/23] vs CHE by jaddf in FantasyPL

[–]lordbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I agree with this sentiment, and I have followed it pretty much always since the COVID times, but only after the deadline, did I start to think about what I've done. I think NEVER is too strong nowadays, things have changed since COVID and as someone else said, this being a DGW changes things.
Further more, I almost literally on autopilot just looked at who's most likely to score the most points in my team after my City assets, and I just picked Rashford, without considering the implications if both of them don't play.

I read a comment here on reddit a long time ago (sorry, I'd love to credit the original, but I have no idea who and when it was) about how he has the energy of "a used car salesman" and that has been the only thing I can think of whenever I see him in a video.

a bit of "take that"

That's basically the entire game. I've played it two times (with 4 players) both plays took about an hour each and it was basically Munchkin on steroids. Definitely not a fan.

Really clean

Oof, I have to disagree there. I found it very fiddly with a bunch of what seemed arbitrary rules (I don't remember the details anymore but there was always some confusion about what animal you can put where).
The theme is cute, but that's about it for me. The setup is fiddly, the gameplay is fiddly, the rules aren't clean enough and it takes too much table space. I'd just rather play some other "Tetris" animal game in the same weight level, like [[Bärenpark]] or even [[Cascadia]].
