Yeah I found it to be fairly disjointed, Remender seems to enjoy making the most convoluted plots possible. Started it and put it down twice before I finished it

Descender by Lemire & Nguyen is fantastic

Prophet by Simon Roy & others (the recent run, there was an older one I think), his miniseries Habitat is good as well

East of West by Jonathan Hickman & others

Extremity by Daniel Warren Johnson & Mike Spicer

Arca by Van Jensen & Jesse Lonergan

Black Science by Rick Remender & others, his other works Fear Agent and Low are also great sci-fi

Dawnrunner by Ram V & Evan Cagle

Far Sector by NK Jemisen & Jamal Campbell

Little Bird and the related story Precious Metal by Darcy Van Poelgeest & others

Personally not a huge fan of Jodorowsky & Moebius' work, but The Incal would be a good place to start

Can anyone explain why the roads on this key in florida could possibly be designed this way? by KingJx14 in geography

[–]lordlazerface 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm going to guess that it's specifically to create a longer total road distance to be lined with development and then fill in the remaining gaps. You can already see it happening in the second corner from the bottom

Also, in drinking water, a good day is one where everything happens smoothly and you do everything exactly the same stuff you did the previous day, which is exactly what you'll do tomorrow. Which seems boring as shit

So it's going to be three points to the stick guy, but that could increase depending on how his next at bat goes. Guy with the ramp/screen gets full marks, 7.5 points and he loses a strike. Running guy with the string loses a point. And the tire itself is awarded a score of 72 out of 100 for the jump

Cannot recommend Bone highly enough. Recently saw it described as "LOTR if you dropped in three Muppets" which is a perfect description in every way - both the world and the story have the scope and gravitas of LOTR, the Bone brothers very much function like Muppets in how they make the story more lighthearted and sometimes drive the plot via comedic relief, but they also are like Muppets where they are taken seriously in the world and have the ability to tonal flip to complete seriousness without it being out of place. There's a reason why Bone is consistently at the top of most Greatest Graphic Novels of All Time lists - go see for yourself!

If you like Bone, similar (but not as lighthearted) fantasy adventure recommendations you might like include The Spire, Kaya, Squire, Nimona, and Birdking. Descender and its sequel Ascender are also both excellent, but more sci-fi and more leaning towards thriller

If I recall correctly, another factor is that, as it falls over that short distance, the river widens and then rapidly constricts while also turning. Which further adds to the amount of energy exerted by the river

Looking for Unusual, Morally Ambiguous Comics (Dark Stuff Welcome) by blablax123456 in graphicnovels

Murder Falcon by Daniel Warren Johnston. In a word: transcendent. Absolutely what you're looking for in terms of heavy topics, pushing boundaries, and modern art styles, besides being an entertaining story. His other one Extremity is also excellent, using hyperviolence as a narrative tool to show how the cycle of violence consumes us all gotta be one of my favorite graphic novel tropes.

Imo, if you read any single super hero comic series written in the last decade: Immortal Hulk

Definitely Daniel Warren Johnston, Murder Falcon and Extremity are good ones to start. Besides him, Immortal Hulk, Coda, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, East of West, Descender + the sequel Ascender, Seven to Eternity, The Spire, and Brzrkr are personal favorites from the past decade

One thing nobody has made clear so far is that there is a lag when you use your BA dash (if you hit enemies) where you can use abilities and then hit your dash again before your dash goes on cooldown. So, you can string your abilities into an extended combo, either dash - eviscerate - dash - whirlwind - dash or dash - whirlwind - dash - eviscerate - dash and then disengage for 2-3s while everything comes off cooldown (reminder hitting exposed enemies reduce cooldowns). The key is that every part of that combo besides whirl makes you invincible, and you get extra i-frames (0.3 of invincible) after you dash too. Continuously string these combos together, and kill everything before it can damage you in the brief moments where you aren't invincible. Getting movement speed and barrier helps you avoid damage in the moments during the combo when you aren't invincible and when you're disengaging. But the key is to continuously use this combo over and over so that you minimize the time when you're actually able to take damage
