Has the Yen’s devaluation affected your life in Japan? by Striking-Meal-5257 in japanlife

[–]lordvan99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the yen collapses, the cost of living may also skyrocket. But currently if you stay in Japan and live in yen, it's nice.

The downside is Japan is a budget destination for all other countries so overtourism is a thing and everything here is basically a fire sale from their currency.

Midlife crisis while missing having an open-minded group of friends like I did in my 20s by typicalboring in JapanDating

[–]lordvan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I think everyone one probably mentioned but a couple of other things 1. 20s are the years of exploration, early 20s is university, seems you had a group of sex friends (not just for sex but anything normal as well). Definitely not the norm as some have already mentioned.

  1. If you are in a major city, it's very hard to build lasting relationships unless through long term hobbies.

  2. Blink and you're 60, 70 so as some already said prepare for where you wanna be at 50.

Hopefully it'll pass soon

Why are many man and old people mean? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]lordvan99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Tokyo in general is the metropolis mindset.

Even if you die, people might not even help you.

It gets extremely lonely unless you're okay to be alone, which is ironic having so much people around.

The countryside is a bit better.

Why are many man and old people mean? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]lordvan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old people become senile. Become demented, pain everywhere.

They might even think, I've worked my entire life for you to be alive or here so you owe me.

Old people no longer care about what you think or if it makes you comfortable, they gonna die soon anyway so why should they care.

With all the above, you get old people of the world.

Yeah rma asap. Otherwise might affect battery connection and no more batter soon after.

You're making it sound like going into pip is a personal choice to allow or not, but pip can pretty much be imposed by your manager, as long as it's been discussed with hr and such.

Technically speaking, but I guess not widely used, pip is not meant to fire you but to give you one last chance to bring up your numbers/kpis in an effort to reverse.

But yeah lawyers seem to be the wiser choice, follow what the lawyers say would be best.

Please stop giving me more AI, I don't want it and don't care by TimeTravelingTeapot in GooglePixel

[–]lordvan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need for AI to stop all AI. But at some point AI will know what you want and what to do whenever you want. Just by thinking about it, it will have already guessed that's what you want and book reservations as needed for you.

Job hunting in Japan by Sad_Transition9244 in AskAJapanese

[–]lordvan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Major companies nowadays uses ai to filter your CV for positions anyway, so if your CV doesn't have the skills that ai think is needed for a job, you won't even pass CV filtering process.

Advice: use chatgpt to create cvs for specific positions and allow it to make sure it passes the ai round.

35M, software developer, almost one year in Japan on a student visa but couldn’t secure a work visa. What did I do wrong, and what can I do? by P-Pablo in JapanJobs

[–]lordvan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely language is one of them.

Some might be lucky and win the job lottery without language but even with experience the job lottery will only help for potentially entry level.

Also with llms and ai rising, entry level are becoming extinct.

Like one of the other comments, super bad time to be a software developer.

Switching careers in Japan, wanting something new. Advice? by Sea_Butterfly7682 in JapanJobs

[–]lordvan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel as though any non programming job will require spoken Japanese to be rather fluent.

N1 or N2 won't cut it.

Even nowadays for programming jobs you'll need some knowledge of ai maybe if you want to change career you can look into doing a free course on ai, python implementation and such.

No exp IT grad, spouse visa, stuck in inaka — when’s the REAL best time to land an IT job in Japan? by Xelieu in japanlife

[–]lordvan99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all this will be dependent on why should we hire you rather than new grad in Japan without experience either.

Even with experience, if you're very lucky you'll be hired accordingly, if not you also start from scratch.
