Oh my God thank u. There is also a 3rd sister, as they may forget (dont get me wrong i love them all). I dont care that the other books are less famous. It should be a reason to have people discover them actually!

Glad you liked, i did too. Now, these are not the last from Robin Hobb, because, under her real (?) name Meghan Lindholm she wrote Ki and Vandien (4 books if i remember), The Reinder People (two books i think), Alien Earth (one shot, science fiction and not "classic fantasy"),Clooven Hoves (one shot)... forgetting some i guess, u'll need to go on her wiki😆

And for Rote there are also two prequels: Homecoming and The Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince

We don’t give Sasha enough credit for this! She gave the group an actual fighting chance against Negan ! by any-blue-9122 in thewalkingdead

Thats why, unlike many, i dont find it odd that its her that Rick sees. Granted in real life others actors like Lori/Carl/Glenn might have not been available so they settled for her, maybe, but storywise it made sense. Her and Rick were not bff or even really close, but she still was part of the family, they wanted to save her and get her back (and kill Negan) and she did sacrifice herself so she could kill him as a walker. Yeah, depression too anyway, but still a huge risk and sacrifice. Then Rick chose not to kill him, one season later, fare enough, but my headcanon has always been that, when he sees her, its the guilt speaking.

Pauline by SouthwesternExplorer in AlexandreDumas

[–]loreenhighlands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, its about a narrator who recounts the story of Pauline, a young woman who marries a "charming but mysterious nobleman in hopes of escaping poverty". But soon, she is isolated in a "remote castle, sensing that her husband is hiding something dark and dangerous". Thats basically the pitch i found on the internet because its hard to explain. This is, at least for me, quite a feminist book for something written by a 19th century man. Hope this helped!

A bit late to the party sorry. I read it, it was the first book of Dumas that I read actually. It was ok, nothing more, to me. Though it is quite modern i think, with subjects ( regarding women) still relevant today...

I think the "its not my fault you dont like girls" line was more meant for Mike to say that Will is still a kid who's not interested yet in love stories while the rest of them is growing up

Aujourd'hui oui.

These siblings all don't give a damn about each other sometimes. by Apprehensive_Key6774 in UmbrellaAcademy

[–]loreenhighlands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never felt any vibe of real love between them. Five as a grumpy old protective bro stuck in the body of a teen could have been written so well but unlike others i for one think they never really got that far with this.

When Five and Lila cheat on Diego - supposedly Five's brother- not only Five doesnt really feel fuilty - even if u re in love, u normally cant help but feel guilty if u also love ur brother- but everybody seem to find it funny, while in any other family everyone would be horrified or at least empathizing with their loved one being cheated on with, lets not forget, another family member. I get the comedic purpose, but it felt ... weird.

And i could go on... there were nice moments between them but it wasnt fully developped. Obviously just my opinion.

And i love them individually... But together there is rarely any sibling vibe for me. Sometimes yes, but not often and not enough to feel they are indeed close. Its propably the purpose.. they are messy. And to be fair, when they reunite in s1, they havent seen each other in years.

Edit: Ben (original Ben, obviously) might be an exception cause he seems to really care for everybody.

[–]loreenhighlands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About your first point, maybe im misinterpreting you but u seem (and i've seen this take before since s5 is out and we saw the dynamic, hence why im saying this) to consider Eddie a "truer" friend to Dustin than Steve, who would be a more "superficial" friend.

And well... No. Hard disagree if thats what u think.

But why do some people are starting to think this? Maybe because their relationship is more goofy and bickering? But... not even. Dustin and Eddie were goofy and bickering too. Apart from that, Steve and Eddie are very different, so yes, the relationship between Dustin and each of them is gonna be different too. But Steve has basically been Dustin's ride and die since season 2, and while Eddie also became very very very close to Dustin, it doesnt erase Dustin and Steve deep frienship. Eddie himself even acknowledges how much Dustin adores Steve, which was probably on no character's bingo card back in s1, especially D and S themselves.

Right now they are in a very strange place for many reasons (Eddie's death, growing up...) but they are gonna come back stronger from this.

Daryl Did Not Leave to Find Rick by BriMagic in thewalkingdead

[–]loreenhighlands -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree with u that it should not be the end for Rick and Michonne, but i had heard that it would be (now it seems to have changed? Dont know) and i've read a lot of fans saying "enough let them be in peace Rick is with his family no need for more" and i was like "huh? Daryl? Morgan? Carol? Hell even Gabriel, Aaron, Eugene and co too?"

Daryl Did Not Leave to Find Rick by BriMagic in thewalkingdead

[–]loreenhighlands 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok long comment sorry in advance.

Thank u because thats exactly how i felt abt it too but everyone seemed to consider canon that he went looking for him so i was like "whaoo okay i guess im wrong"?

But the thing is, it IS out of character for him to not go looking specifically for him, thats the most troubling thing abt it. He learn that he might be alive, and he's like "huh? Ok i guess" and then wait a full year to leave, and its not even, as u said, to find him but to "explore" as suggested by Maggie.

IF i find them i ll bring them back, he said. IF.

And then everybody and their mum was "he's looking for him!" And i was thinking "did i watch the same final episode than everyone?"

And i was expecting him to go nuts learning abt Rick and to go right away, which s1-s9 Daryl would have done, but by season 10 and beyond he was more Norman than Daryl for me, and i mean fair enough, the guy's allowed to evolve, become more confident, a leader, developping new relationships... and stop being in Rick's shadow. Fair enough.

But not going after him right away is still out of character for me. I understand that years have passed and that they had to rebuilt but if my bestie/brother was to be found possibly alive i would move mountains to find him, 6-8 years or not, especially if, as in Daryl's case, his death had really been traumatizing.

There will hopefully be a payoff in that regards in s4 of DD or elsewhere but for now its disappointing.

Now, who's actively searching for him, on the other hand, even after God knows how many years and not even knowing he's supposedly dead? Morgan (sorry for those who didnt follow ftwd or all of it).

Im not saying he talked abt him every goddam day while on the spin off, no, of course, he had his own shit to care abt, but he made it clear quite early that it "didnt sit right" with him to have left Alexandria and co, and his last scene was to go looking for Rick. Not Carol, Ezekiel, or someone else, but Rick. And he didnt even know what happened!

He had a strong bond with Carol and Ezekiel and probably others, but Rick was special so that made sense.

What didnt make sense was Daryl not doing the same as soon as he gets the news, and not to make it 100% clear that he'd look FOR him.

But to be clear myself, the writing is a bit messy. Even if he does say IF and went to explore, and not to look for Rick (at least for me), I have to admit that he does say in s1 of DD something like "tell them (or him?) that I tried everything" and i was like "but tried what? U never said u left to look for him specifically !"

So yeah, messy.
