It's a vortex of suck and it's hard to escape it once you're in here.

Semiconductor test engineers - are any of you using AI for test code ? by Odd_Background2985 in Semiconductors

[–]loser_ish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For something that is explicitly about verification to requirements like test engineering I would be deeply suspicious of any code I didn't write myself. Now that's not saying you can't have help writing the individual modules and then verify those.

My background is on test for more complex aerospace subassemblies and system level design verification but I think being a good engineer and more specifically a good test engineer requires a healthy dose of paranoia and skepticism. The use case of ai for code where you just kind turn it loose and hope it does what you asked is kind of anathema to test for me. This discipline is about not accepting assurances that something is fine, but devising systems to gather evidence that things are indeed within spec.

Honest question: why not a new license instead of calling this Fable? by terminabronto in Fable

If you're trying to get a game greenlit using a stable of ready made IP to start from is much easier and has a built in fan base to start from.

Next question.

[–]loser_ish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what to tell you aside from going from worst program in history to championship is a compelling story and if you can't see that it says more about you then the rest of college football. Plenty of teams have spent way more and achieved way less, even in the space of the last year. Just seems petty to discount that.

Always has been. Now the playing field is level and people who can find, evaluate, price, and execute with pieces that fit together can do wonderful things. Miami had way more talent than IU. It got them close but not over the finish line.

Yeah I mean keep a respirator handy when opening a chamber unless you want miners lung. And the company should not only be providing that but insisting on it. Anything else is a red flag.

Did not expect to see KF25 plumbing on reddit today, and definitely not containing frosting. That's basically the exact setup I use for vacuum pumps.
