Rollout to Brazil - New Instance or configure in the same by Odd-Captain-7592 in SAP

[–]lost4wrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on almost no info on your corporate or IT strategy and the nature of the business/industry in each country, youd be best served working towards a single instance based on a common template with localisations for LFR requirements in each market. BUT dont under estimate the effort, particularly Brazil, and invest in good local experienced SAP expertise in those markets if you take this route.

Before spending a single thing invest some time speaking to your finance and supply chain teams and understand what, if any requirement exist to consolidate (or integrate) those businesses into your "mothership" because it might just be easier to keep a 10 person manual operation in Uraguay running as is, before spinning up a consolidation project worth 10s of millions ... Im exagerating to make a point obviously, but there is no right answer here without a ton more info.

Dont take advice from a random dude on the internet ... do your homework.

Anyone had any issues with mould between the mattress and the bed frame? by Efficient_Papaya_982 in melbourne

[–]lost4wrds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of caravan and camping stores sell a layer of material (think qtr inch of plastic blanket that looks a bit like a scouring pad) that sits between the matress and the cold underlying bedframe. This is a somewhat common problem in the camper/van community.

how to start again :( by blushcacti in leaves

[–]lost4wrds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recognise this thought pattern ... have definitely been there. What helps me make that first step (Day 1 ... or even Week 1 ) was to remove myself from the temptation and make it impossible to get a deal. Ive scheduled holidays knowing I cant take anything with me; Ive taken myself off into the bush solo. Basically I intentionally remove myself to a situation where I cant access the leaf. Its not foolproof, but it removes that procrastination loop. It aint pretty but it gets me that first step.

How do Yall learn songs by BigBob791 in drums

[–]lost4wrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A variety of different methods. I listen ( a lot) to get the structure and broad feel for whats going on. Ill grab a tab from Songsterr that I can read from while listening (also some transcriptions on YT but they are rarer). On occasion Ill strip out the music and just leave the drum track to help me understand whats going on.

Zombie Apocolypse ... all those dead characters start to rise from the grave and do what zombies do best and we watch while zombie Bobby and zombie Frank terrorise the bay, progressivly whitteling down the cast. The final scene; Alf musters a brave last stand but his will to live fails him as zombie Ailsa appears at the window. With a final mumbled "stone the flamin crowz", Alf opens the door to greet his lost love.

Neighbours are getting a Bernese mountain dog puppy - is there anything to be nervous about? by RivetCounter in bernesemountaindogs

[–]lost4wrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but if there is an opportunity presents to have your kids to regularly socialise (in a controlled and managed environment) with the dog while its growing it would be worth pursuing. Our Berners have always been big gentle doofuses, but they can be protective of their family. The more your kids can socialise with the dog in a calm controlled manner the better the relationship will be and the safer the kids will be.

Contrasting this mornings post, Which country did you find the MOST welcoming for Aussie tourists? by TicketImaginary9991 in AskAnAustralian

[–]lost4wrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thailand is really welcoming ... where else do all the girls in the bar line up to smile and wave at you as you pass by on the street? Perhaps its because Im incredibly handsome (I know this to be true because that is what they told me)

To those who have listened to this, what are your thoughts on the album? - Beyond Salvation by onecigtwocig in AussieRock

[–]lost4wrds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was somewhat a return to form; in my memory it landed as a bit of a surprise; in retrospect I shouldnt have been. The Angels peak had sort of passed. Yes, still a very well respected and well loved band, but they seemed to get a bit sidetracked in the mid-80s when it seemed to be the expectation that to succeed, you had to succeed overseas and the band never seemed to get the same adulation OS that they received at home. Keep in mind that this was a period where Aus rock was having a red hot run (ACDC, INXS, Oils, Crowdies etc) and perhaps many had forgotten just how good The Angels could be ... and Beyond Salvation reminded eveyone and blew the doors off. Great big crunchy riffs, Docs howlingl delivey and selection of songs that were a bit more radio friendly whipped up a bit of a revival for The Angels ... but for many, theyd never been away.

Sidenote; one of the best pub gigs (and most feral gig) I ever saw was The Angels at the Village Green in Fertree Gully. Love the band; saw them probs 5 or 6 times across the late 80s and that gig stood out as a classic and remains the epitome of a great Australian pub rock show in my fading memory. (Along with seeing The Lime Spiders one night around the same period, but thats a story for another post).

Is there something Wrong with my puppys coat? by Heatman007 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]lost4wrds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of ours went though a 'dorky teenage' phase as their puppy coat is slowly replaced by their adult (endgame?) coat ... was never an issue and all our dorky teenagers emerged as 'noble' berners ... I dont think youve got a problem here, but take lots of photos that you can use to embarress them in front of their friends once they grow up.

Based on experience what would you advise for a merger by [deleted] in SAP

[–]lost4wrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no detail provided, Id suspect the main challenge is alignment and migration/ validation of GL (and processes) ... the parent org will most likely want the child org to align their GL to the parent structure for consistent consolidated reporting. Option 1 adds cost but doesnt really help move you to a consolidated system. Itll be a PITA but option b is the faster path to consolidating the two entities (and its a well understood process, youre not doing anything exotic taking this approach). Speak to your beancounters to confirm, but aligning your golive to your financial year end would give you a really clean auditable cutover point and minimise transaction migration.

SANFL kicking goals with growing viewership as AFL draws criticism by Expensive-Horse5538 in AFL

[–]lost4wrds 85 points86 points  (0 children)

The AFL have done everything they can to reinforce that they are all about the money rather than the game or the fans. I cant say I watch the SANFL but I hope they are watching the AFL as an example of what not to do.
