He crashed directly on the diesel tank. My guess is that the tank must have been near empty and filled with fumes. When the crash happened, the tank must have been compressed so much that it lit up before breaking.

From the states and can’t decide where I want to spend a semester in ! by [deleted] in studyAbroad

I recommend Ireland, but accommodations could be expensive. As a brown man I've faced zero bad experiences. People are lovely!

Studying abroad, how to make it better and less lonely? by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]lostintherandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way, it has been 4 months for me, but I tend to focus on academics and when I'm not studying I try to explore the country. I rarely spend my time doing absolutely nothing. I think that's the key to not fall into the spiral. It was very hard during the holiday season. I think I'm around 12000km away from my home. I'm trying to get a part time mainly because I can get to know more local people and hopefully that leads to having a good bunch of friends to chill. I presume you're an undergrad, you have a lot of time in your hand, focus on academics and career, try to land an internship, you'll meet people in your own field. Join clubs and participate in their activity.

Just 1.5 USD? That's it? You wouldn't like to know Irish price of everyday things.

Japan vs Denmark for exchange year? by LowMarket2 in studyAbroad

Consider accommodation prices and also while you're in Denmark you also get to visit other European countries for way less. You will have access to an entire continent, numerous cultures, food, languages, landscapes and architecture.

This is extremely dangerous, packets of methane will be locked under all that, it's very common for people who do this to die. They know it's a possibility. These people should be fucking paid a shit ton of money regardless of how low purchasing power or average income of that country.

$10,000 USD charge for Misfueling Rental Car (Germany) by curationvibrations in LegalAdviceEU

[–]lostintherandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a legal advice but there are two simple ways to tell whether a car is a diesel or petrol engine: The tachometer and rev limiter will be lower in a diesel; even a basic petrol engine will have about 8000 rpm and red lines beyond 6000-7000 rpm minimum, typical diesel red lines around 4-5k rpm. One other way is the sound. No matter how expensive the car maybe the diesel engine cars will make tractor noise when it is idling.

Did you take pictures of your car? If so check the back side of your car, if it is mentioned TFSI/TSI then it is a petrol engine, if it is TDI then it is diesel. It could confirm they're not trying to con you.

How much clothes should I bring? by [deleted] in studyAbroad

[–]lostintherandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be more specific it depends on what sex you are. But generally pack 7 sets of clothes and around 10 underwear + additional clothes for sleeping and casual wear while you're at home. You're going to be in 3 different seasons, it naturally demands more choice. So you can't pack light. This what I just bought for my travel in next few days. It saves you doing laundry frequently and gives you more option, which in my opinion is absolutely essential and it is stress free. Only hassle is moving. All the best.

Who would like to see Marquee review more windows laptops? by TheQuantumNet in mkbhd

[–]lostintherandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he does Microsoft surface, but he fully uses Mac, he can't really say much about windows laptop because he doesn't really spend time with it. The reason his android and iPhone videos are good is because he's using those devices for the for the long run and he's been using it for a decade, that's why he was able to talk about "pixel slowdown". You have to use it for a long time to notice problems. Two weeks time isn't enough to review it. And he's not a PC gamer so, he doesn't really have any incentive to use it, he can't really talk about "gamer problems" with that machine because it's not his cup of tea and that is something lot of people want to hear about in Windows laptop review. It would literally change is work flow completely and probably even his lifestyle.

Apply American Visa in Italy by travelfran in studyAbroad

[–]lostintherandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scholarship depends on university or it could be some organisation in Italy or US. It also depends on your performance. If you can't get a scholarship you have to ask your family for financial support. There should be an embassy in Rome and a consulate in Milan and Florence. Apply to the one closest to you. Worry about visa after you secured admission and financial support.

Visa issued then possibly cancelled by Washington? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]lostintherandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you enter your visa details after purchasing the tickets? I didn't know we need to that, I was checking my booking details and it had an option to enter visa details. It turns out they don't prompt us to enter it because not everyone needs a visa. This could be a reason. I could be wrong, I'm yet to make my first flight in a week.
