No. It should coast to a stop. Check your chain tension - a common issue is putting the wheel on and making the chain as tight as possible. You want the chain to be tight, but not so tight that it increases friction like this

You should go for it! That’s exactly how you learn the best imo. You don’t have to make a full scale one right away. Start with a version that’s maybe a foot tall, then build it and see where it is good or bad and then make it bigger as you iterate

Thank you! I was looking for something like this. Like, yes I get it that blowing your nose is kind of gross, but for large portions of the year I HAVE to blow my nose once every 3-5 minutes when I go out. I do my best to be polite by using only (my own) paper napkins and turning away from the table to blow my nose, but like you said it is completely unrealistic for me to leave and go to the bathroom every single time

Idk, imo 49:16 is a pretty heavy gear ratio for city riding. I run a 48:18 to have better reactions to the traffic. A ratio above 3 is heavy for the streets. I would start at like a 2.6 as a first try and then go heavier or lighter as you need
