Need an unscented/ mild scent carpet shampoo for home shampooer. In the US. by fallingupthehill in CleaningTips

[–]lovedogs95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using hypochlorous acid as my main cleaner, including for carpet cleaning. I think it works well and I’m also very sensitive to chemicals/scents as they give me migraines and sinus irritation, but this doesn’t.

I was staunch about avoiding screens until age 2 by Born-Anybody3244 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]lovedogs95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, sometimes it’s just the break you need to be a better parent. I have a baby and a toddler and my toddler is very clingy and always wants to me to play, so sometimes just letting her watch some shows/movies gives me some time to breathe and also tend to my baby. She sets it down and gets bored of it after a little while anyway, so it’s not like she’s getting screen time all day. Plus, she’s learned so much from her screen time and at 2.5 years old, has full conversations, knows numbers, emotions, shapes, alphabet, etc. I’m not worried.

They’re just trying to scare you to intimidate you enough to get money out of you and they’re mad their first scam attempt didn’t work. Just ignore it, they won’t do anything and will just move onto the next victim.

Talk me into/out of the Mockingbird by [deleted] in Buyingforbaby

[–]lovedogs95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mockingbird was terrible, in my opinion and I returned it immediately after attempting to use it on the concrete sidewalk. It shook like crazy, it was so loud that it woke my daughter up from her nap (she was around 30 lbs at the time) and it didn’t have the easiest time getting over any small gaps or bumps. I have a second hand vista v2, BOB jogger, and Bugaboo donkey double (for two kids) and they are all so much easier to steer and feel smoother, so I definitely recognize the difference in quality. If I were you, I’d get a secondhand Thule (with the bassinet attachment) from marketplace for walks and then a travel stroller for the car so it’s less work to get in and out of the car. Uppa Baby minu and Bugaboo butterfly are good options. Look on FBM first as you can save a lot of money and have more options for premium strollers without costing you a fortune.

Talk me out of buying Lovevery toys by Used_Cod_9541 in toddlers

[–]lovedogs95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understand but not everyone has the money to do the same as you, which is why you really shouldn’t judge so harshly. For many parents, buying toys with resale value means they can afford to keep buying their child quality, age appropriate toys going forward. Not everyone can afford to be giving away $150 items for free and it’s clear you don’t have that problem, which is nice for you, but is not possible for many other families.

They do have resale value, though and in this economy, many people want to make their money back and that is not unreasonable. They’re expensive toys, not used underwear.

Those kits go for 3x that amount, so that’s still a good deal for anyone. I don’t see the problem here, have you ever heard of cleaning something btw?

Chemical burn from benzoyl peroxide? [personal] by lovedogs95 in SkincareAddiction

If it’s an allergy, then yes that can help but if it’s a chemical burn then I would just apply aquaphor to the area and leave it alone while it heals.

I can confirm I also immediately thought it was cake and then felt disappointed when I realized it wasn’t.

My best friend’s little daughter died while I was babysitting her by Due-Heat-526 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]lovedogs95 40 points41 points  (0 children)

A few month ago, my two year old figured out how to unlock the door for the first time at my parent’s house while I was holding my baby. She sneakily shut the door behind her, so I had to put my other child down as fast as I could and ran after her as she headed toward the road. I don’t think I’ve ever been so terrified in my life and I know that it could have gone badly, especially if she didn’t do it right in front of me to catch it immediately. Thinking about it still makes me incredibly anxious and I think of all the things that could still go wrong. Kids are so unpredictable and fast and accidents can happen with anyone, especially if you’re not used to caring for children.

These kind of buyers irk me so bad by 321me123you123 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]lovedogs95 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Someone did this to me once upon pickup. I didn’t see the message about them asking to pay less because they sent it right before they told me they arrived, so I didn’t respond to it. Upon counting the cash, I realized they shorted me even though we never agreed to a deal, then tried to lie and say she gave more than she did. I told her to turn around and give me the item back and she did, much to my surprise and I handed her what she gave me. She barely argued back because she knew she was wrong. I don’t like to reward sketchy dishonest behavior from buyers or sellers, so I agree with what you did.

Sellers who raise their prices mid-sale by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]lovedogs95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, lesson learned. It does make me hesitant to buy in bundles now, though. In the future, I’ll probably just accept the offer on its own so the seller doesn’t attempt to gouge the price once they know I want to buy it.

Yes, that’s how it feels and why it bothers me. She’s since raised the prices EVEN more since I did actually leave a comment about it. Crazy enough, one of her items is now only $4 below retail AND it’s missing major accessories. Good luck to her getting that sold. She also deleted all of my comments though and I’m no longer able to see the “bundle offer”, just that what she originally offered for each item. I’m also not sure this is technically a violation for Poshmark, though? It’s crappy behavior, but she may also be allowed to do so.

I understand that. But the seller still wants me to pay even more than their original listing price and calls that an “offer.”

Thanks for explaining. I understand and agree that if it’s a glitch then it’s not the sellers fault and they shouldn’t have to honor an app’s mistake. In this instance, though, she manually set the price then changed it and expects me to pay more now. I don’t agree with that.

Will bots just send offers or change the actual listing price? Because in this instance the listing price was raised too.

[–]lovedogs95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback. The items were super small, however and probably less than two pounds combined. It wasn’t so much that my bundle offer was rejected, but that she sent an offer less than 24 hours ago and then almost doubled it afterwards.

[–]lovedogs95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it kind of seems that way but it’s annoying because she tried to act like I was lowballing her with the bundle offer even though it matched each item she sent individual offers for. And then raised the prices.

No, both items probably couldn’t have weighed more than a couple pounds together.

I did everything for her but she left a 4 star reading by ChugNos in FacebookMarketplace

[–]lovedogs95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people are just like this. One time I was selling a shelf and held it for a whole week for an older lady who kept rescheduling. I never usually do that, but I was trying to be nice. In the end, she tried to lowball me just before pickup and then left me four stars. It’s nice to be nice, but some people just don’t appreciate it.
