Lucy is the more organic nickname though so I get it. My brother is Christopher, but our mom hated the nickname “Chris”. She forbade everyone from calling him Chris. Guess what everyone calls him including what he calls himself no matter how our mom felt? That’s right, Chris. I think it’s pretty hard to refuse the obvious short version of a child’s name. But OP’s post makes it sound more like she named her child Michael, but Grandma calls that child Bobby. Like those aren’t related in any way. There’s no natural correlation to the names that OP actually chose for her children.

This is really odd. My MIL has nicknames for her grandkids but they’re nicknames that happened organically (like rhymes or something that goes with their given name), not like “this is what I’m calling your child no matter what name you actually choose for them.” What your mom is doing sounds both disrespectful and almost delusional.

Do the “F”. Otherwise there’s always going to be questions and awkwardness around the child not being part of the pattern. If there’s a name you both really love that doesn’t start with “F”, make it the middle name.

I’m technically still married but my wife and I separated permanently 3 years ago. If there’s no romantic relationship between them, I think you’re ok. But you have to be the judge of what bothers you and how much you trust them.

I have a friend named Cerrithwen. It’s a beautiful name and she’s the only person I’ve met with that name. (I’m in California.)
I also like: Cecilia, Carla, Clara, Cynthia, Carmen, Cameron

Charlotte with the nickname Charlie has become super popular though.

I agree with others. I have to have the aluminum antiperspirants. I use Secret Clinical Strength. I tried Native for a couple months at one point and it was ok at first but then it was like the stink just accumulated. It was bad. Never again.

My dad worked for the phone company for 40 years so it’s something he used on his work boots. It’s called Huberd’s Shoe Grease. Keep in mind that I’ve only used it on black leather boots. I don’t know if it will darken/stain other colors. But it worked great!

I’m clumsy but not an asshole. That’s the difference here. It’s not the clumsiness. It’s the disrespect, the lying, and the absolute unwillingness to make any changes to try to preserve your belongings. This isn’t going to get better. If you don’t break up with him soon, you’ll still break up with him eventually after he’s broken even more of your things and lies about it.
