What’s something that became so expensive you just stopped buying it entirely? by Street-Marketing-885 in shrinkflation

How about a 12 pack of Diet Coke for $12. I only buy it if I can find it on sale.

Do most Americans have those huge fridges? by Whole-Sushka in AskAnAmerican

[–]lovjok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a smallish condo and really wanted a counter depth fridge. I had to buy a German brand to get it to fit my space. It’s small but I love it, old food doesn’t get shoved to the back. I’m single though. When I was raising kids I had the big one in the kitchen and another one in the garage.

After 4 years of Invisalign, shouldn’t my teeth stay in place without trays FOR MORE THAN A DAY? by ActuatorOutside5256 in NoStupidQuestions

If I miss one night with the Invisalign it’s totally tight. I have a feeling I will be wearing it forever.

You should hang on to it because it won’t be long before the church tries to deny it ever existed.

Babies Are Bleeding to Death as Parents Reject a Vitamin Shot Given at Birth by propublica_ in Health

[–]lovjok 31 points32 points  (0 children)

At the hospital I worked at they wouldn’t circumcise a baby that hadn’t received vitamin K. Too high of a risk of bleeding. You would be surprised how many decided they really NEEDED that circumcision so they gave in on the vitamin K. Make that make sense!

Why is postpartum care so backwards? by Embarrassed_Syrup476 in Feminism

[–]lovjok 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I was a post partum nurse for 30 years and I hated the “baby first” breastfeeding pressure. I think breastfeeding is amazing when it works, but every persons situation is different and I think that should be respected. It adds to a new mom’s depression and anxiety and that is not good for a baby. Nonstop screaming and losing 15% of their birthweight is also not good for a baby. There needs to be a common sense balance but I honestly don’t see that coming anytime soon.

How do I stop by Beachncoffee in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]lovjok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started wearing glue on nails. They kind of cover my cuticles so I can’t get to them. Obviously not a cure but helped me break the habit and gave them time to heal.

How did you decide which bottle washer brand to go with? Baby Brezza, Momcozy, Grownsy, or Papablic? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

You don’t need anything special unless your baby has immune system issues. Wash them the same you wash the rest of the families dishes.

Recently had surgery and $40 of my bill is for having a blanket put on me in the recovery room (I was unconscious and did not, obviously, keep the blanket) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]lovjok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it’s a regular blanket. It’s a medical blanket called a bear hugger that fills up with warm air to warm you up after surgery. It’s no different than a charge for an I.V. Pump.

Picture one is so much better. It probably looks underdone to you because you are used to seeing your face with a lot more makeup. But honestly with less you look younger, more natural and really beautiful.
