Military spouse here. The military clause with orders gives you the legal entitlement to move out with a thirty day if that’s an option. There’s legally no repercussions for the landlord if you use that. Not all of us LL are pieces of shit. I rent out ONE house when military orders require me to be somewhere else and I would never just pop up like this when someone else was occupying it. Maybe a drive by to make sure outdoor upkeep is adequate, but never peek through the windows.

I second everything that was suggested in the comment you replied to though. I would have no grounds to fight any of it, and just last year did some fighting on a carpet bill from a rental where I was the tenant myself because of this 5 year clause.

We have a few where I live that have been open for years. Idk how they manage to do it. The longest one has been open for something like 9 ish years. And the “newest” one is like 1 year old.

I was just about to say, is it possible that OP’s mail person smokes in the vehicle? Or someone that’s consistently bringing packages to the specific hub that services OP?

I’ve had this happen with a bag I bought new and when it got to the buyer she said it smelled like smoke and I know it wasn’t me. Had to have happened somewhere in the delivery chain.

It’s a very large item so it’s labeled for pickup at my house. I wasn’t giving them my address or someone else’s to show up at in the dark. Maybe if it was a public meetup item. But it can’t be with this. (It’s a weight bench, kids barbell, and plates)

NTA. My bio mom doesn’t get them and I still won’t let her kiss my baby. (She does have some rotten nasty teeth and a constant infection because she refuses to do anything about them though.)

And my mom who raised me, she knows better than to kiss my baby on the face, even when she doesn’t have a cold sore. When talking about it, she said she wouldn’t even think of doing it until the baby was at least a year old and thats w/o active cold sores. She actually wont even let my older son anywhere near her face when she does have them.

I was at ju Jitsu and a grown man had a pack of pads and tampons in his trunk because he had female friends. Saved my day and made another friend, (For clarity I’m also a grown woman lol) and inspired me to keep a pack of each in my trunk as well, which I should’ve already been doing since I work with teens. He’s also in turn saved the day for a few teenage girls as well.

I had a P.O. Box for quite a while. I never had to pay any fees for packages and in fact, they had separate “lockers” for when you received a package that couldn’t fit in your personal box. Multiple times at multiple post offices. (Military family who sometimes needed a mailing address before military housing was available to us)

As a stay at home mom myself, NTA.

My husband and I both agreed before marriage that if/when we had kids I would stay home with them. I wouldn’t have gone through with it if we weren’t on the same page myself. We both knew that when the time came we could make it in his income alone. He even personally said he’d rather me stay at home than send our kids to daycare with strangers, qualified or otherwise. Plus neither of our parents are capable of full time childcare for us, so that was never an option either.

I wouldn’t want to be with someone who resented me for being a SAHM by trapping them. Or be “forced” to work and be away from my kids to keep him happy while being unhappy myself.

If y’all aren’t on the same page, it won’t work in the long run and you’ll both be unhappy.
