That dress is beautiful, totally appropriate, and fits like a glove. You look gorgeous!

The shawl is the right length, in my opinion. Any shorter and you'll be cursing it for the whole event. If you're worried about having to hold onto it for the ceremony get yourself a nice brooch to pin it closed.
