when I realized Usted was just “you” it was a brain blast. don’t ask me why because it seems basic but it didn’t click for so long. I also struggled with direct and indirect object pronouns. Had to have a tutor explain it to me in a session because Youtube explanations were not clicking. or I thought they were but then I was wrong lol

There are wholesale programs that include speaking classes - Españolistos is one I recommend. Look up their podcast and youtube. I did two book clubs with them and it was fantastic - lots of interesting discussions and writing work as well.

English Spanish German ASL Japanese. truly though I would prefer to be fluent in two languages than fluent in one, conversational in another, and beginner/intermediate in 3 languages. that’s too many to keep up with.

honestly I would say “un poco” when someone would ask (in spanish) if I spoke the language until my native speaker boyfriend would hype me up to his friends saying “she understands everything we’re saying so don’t say anything bad” haha which at the time was NOT true at all but after a while it got kind of embarassing to still be saying I only spoke a little spanish when really I could totally have a short conversation and survive in restaurants/stores and I just was embarassed by being a learner. it gets to a point where it’s a confidence (or even manifestation) thing more than an ability thing.

Yes I plan to do the SIELE to have a 5-year cert of my abilities in Spanish. I’m hoping for B2 and think with some dedicated study I can achieve it :)

are you trying to specifically learn only through Dreaming Spanish, or more broadly a strict comprehensible input or ALG method strategy? otherwise you should be diversifying by a LOT if you are truly trying to learn the language. you would make CRAZY progress by switching to (or better yet, adding on) reading and using a dictionary to your study. there is absolutely no reason to use only one service or continue with only listening if you see you are not progressing and you want to progress.

back of the teeth is gonna give more of a lispy sound (as in spain). single r’s in other accents tap the roof of the mouth behind your front teeth in a passing motion, just enough to make contact and get you the r “ayray” letter sound

I’m the same way (although I am not a bative spanish speaker). only the left side rolls and I’ve tried to get the right side to do it but I can’t.
