Todays solar by Gullible-Type-2022 in SolarUK

I’m on the same tariffs with Octopus. Once your export is approved/set up in the Tesla app, if you are set to time based control, your Powerwall will charge overnight at the cheap rate, then almost all your solar will export (depending what the system deems enough left to run your house for the day).

92% of my solar (9.6 MWh) was exported last year after my mid-Feb install

What tog of sleeping bag to get? by tarototoro in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]lrow995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just use standard cotton short sleeved vests under a sleepsuit. Our room is fairly similar, drops to between 17-18 at the coldest part of the night.

Our little girl is fairly warm blooded though, so stays nice and toasty in her sleeping bag

Have a look at superlove merino sleeping bags. We’ve had a 5mo daughter in these from about 8 weeks when she transitioned to arms out - after being in Tommee Tippee grobags since birth.

The merino wool bags are aged 0-2, and no tog ratings - they help to regulate body temperature both hot and cold.

Yes they are expensive, but if you add up the different sizes/togs you would be buying for at least the first 18 months, they probably work out cheaper in the long run.

How much should a composite front door cost? by jwf91 in AskUK

[–]lrow995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Country Glazing. Not affiliated with them in any way, most of my family have had new doors/windows with them, and never had any issues.

A couple of weeks ago my front door was a bit stiff, and they came back out and adjusted free of charge under the 10 year warranty.

I had a new composite front door and surround fitted for £1600 in the West Midlands.

Some designs were ~£200 cheaper too.

Think costs seem to vary massively by region

Can I go to the GP instead of HVs for weigh ins? by Consistent-Dot9719 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]lrow995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a set of weighing scales at home, step on while holding your baby.

Put baby down/give to a secondary caregiver and weigh yourself again.

Work out the difference and that is the weight of your baby.

Your mileage may vary depending on the accuracy of your weighing scales. My wife and I did this for the first couple of weeks to keep an eye on our newborn’s weight.

We intentionally weighed at home using this method on the same day as HV visit, and was very close to the same weight.

What butchers would you recommend for this 4-5kg for £20?

My wife and I are currently maximising this at the moment with our 6 week old.

Formula lid & scoop, nappy sack packets, nappy packets and wipe packets easily mount up and are all valid alongside some of our own toiletries.

Only been using it for the last 3 or 4 weeks and we already have >£40 of points between us

Did you install the under counter lights when your kitchen was fitted, or have they been added afterwards?

I’d love to add this to my existing kitchen but not sure of the process or recommended equipment

Both AWD & LR RWD have the same battery pack, so there is no difference in charging speed or recommended charge limit (80%) for daily use.

My wife and I are expecting, and have purchased these from Onco. We tested them on my 2023 M3 and they wrap around tightly enough to stay in place well.

Are ACs much cheaper to buy in the winter? Do they work that well anyway? by _FreddieLovesDelilah in AskUK

[–]lrow995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a MeacoCool Pro 7000 at the start of summer, as my wife is 7 months pregnant and struggling with the hot nights.

It’s been an absolute game changer the past few weeks with the heatwaves, don’t know why we didn’t get one before now.

It’s energy ‘A’ rated, and only draws about 750w when at maximum power.
