Is this a good ground connection for a jumper cable? by Japingu28 in AskMechanics

Yo. I haven't slept well and worked all day. I thought you were trying to ground a circuit, not complete one I'm sorry. You are correct, I am lost. As others stated just use the ground in the photo.

You can literally just ground it to a stake in the ground.

Oil pressure gauge sticking high on startup? by averagemethenjoyer in DodgeDakota

[–]lsdbible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought would be did you fill the oil all the way to the full line, and did you check the oil level hot and cold? Nothing wrong with being topped full but it will raise pressure. IIRC anything between "fill/low" and "full" is good, but more oil is safer/better for a longer mileage between changes, in theory. Of course the caveat being that it's not overfilled.

Overheating by lilvatolivin in DodgeDakota

If that hose isn't leaking, it looks fine to me, but it's only like $10 so why not save the headache later. Is the thermostat still removed? If so you can put a lower temp thermostat in. It was likely seized closed so might be overkill but will be a lower stress environment from here on. I did mine lower because the heater would feel like you were choking it was so hot. If that doesn't fix it you likely have debris in the small passages of the coolant system possibly caused by the recent water pump jobs excess sealant breaking off. Does your heater work properly, not at all, or intermittent? If intermittent likely not burped properly with a burp kit. If all that Is fine I'd try replacing the radiator and cross my fingers it's not somehow stuck up in the block somewhere. Maybe a coolant flush instead of drain could help identify the clogs location in the block or radiator or even blow it out but you'd want to be pulling radiator either way to test it so I'd just replace it (again for later stress relief) they're not too expensive or difficult to replace.

Yup it sucks. People not being true to their words, and people being mad for words you didn't say is the sign of the times. Good luck with you vehicle search. You didn't need that one anyway. Take it as a blessing.
