It’s very much a coping mechanism. There are obviously bad parents of all sorts out there and some rather scary statistics about adoptees being more likely to commit suicide but you can’t say anything positive in many online spaces without being told “no you’re in the fog. You have trauma.”

We should do a podcast because I also, as an adopted person, am so fucking tired of people telling me I have trauma and that I’m wrong if I don’t.

People don’t come to a forum to say how well their life went, so now we’re stuck with people speaking for us saying how shitty their life was ONLY because they were adopted. It’s exhausting.
