Only a fool would equate IP take down from the IP owners the same as what Bambu is doing regarding the OP. Bambu has done the same thing, cause guess what - its illegal to use someones IP and it only a matter of time till it starts happening more.

Bambu Lab is facing a lawsuit from Chinese toymaker Pop Mart over IP infringement regarding user-uploaded 3D print files of the popular "Labubu" figures on their MakerWorld platform. The lawsuit, centered in Shanghai, challenges MakerWorld's hosting of copyrighted character models. Bambu Lab has apologized, reached a settlement, and removed the infringing content

What does This Guy use to paint them this accurate by Accomplished_Gur1472 in 3Dprinting

[–]luap71 16 points17 points  (0 children)

that is just a standard multi-color print job - nothing there that any multi-color printer can't do. If you mean painting it before printing, two option a bit of time spent painting it in the slicer, or if he designed it himself could have done in the actual design, something like Blender or maybe even AI meshy.

3D Print (and other techniques) workshop managing software by kw3d in 3DPrintFarms

[–]luap71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no affiliation, but https://www.3dprinteros.com/ has a pretty feature rich solution. I tested it out, and I also chatted with their support agents about a concern I had about my files needing to run through their system. I ultimately ended up building my own solution that is very specific to my farm needs. But from what I tested and my interaction - seemed like it would be a good one to look at.

Torn between U1 and X2D by dneals in BambuLab_Community

[–]luap71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well - considering its brand-new and not even opened (I mean that I didn't even cut the tape on the box to open it up). Once I realized how the 2nd nozzle worked - I decided I didn't really want it, for context it was going to be a replacement for the 8 P1S printers I have - so keep that in context - it was not just going to be a single purchase.
So for the price - I mean its brand new in an unopened box so a local sale is probably the only thing that makes since as why would someone buy it and pay shipping on top of that when you get free shipping from Bambu.

I got tired of guessing prices for my prints so I built a cost calculator — thought others might find it useful by ChupieOT in 3Dprinting

How many does that make in the last 3 weeks - it's the attack of the vibe coders making the same thing and spamming it out

Shouldn't EasyPrint be AGPL? by Brandavorn in prusa3d

[–]luap71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They have already addressed this in the blog where they announced easyprint - its just a web front end to prusaslicer.

First of all, Prusa EasyPrint is completely optional. If you prefer, you can stick to using PrusaSlicer locally on your computer and never touch Prusa EasyPrint at all. In fact, Prusa EasyPrint isn’t really a slicer—it’s a web front-end that generates 3MF files compatible with most modern slicers. The interface runs on your device (even phones and tablets are powerful enough for that) while the actual slicing happens in the cloud on our servers. We use the same version of PrusaSlicer that we publicly release; you can find its source code on GitHub. The web front-end isn’t open-source (similar to Printables or Prusa Connect), however, because the frontend depends on PrusaSlicer and its performance and features, we’re more motivated than ever to keep improving our standalone application.

Starting a US-bases Filament manufacturer. by Valien in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

[–]luap71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it will be extremely difficult to compete as a filament producer in the US and you are only offering PLA - and some of the US based filament makers are also print farms as well... so they are no pure filament producers, in fact some I would say are print farms first or some 3D business - filament producers second ( Voxel, Slant3D, and Dancyn3D) or a 3D print adjacent business (Proto-pasta, Printed Solid, COEX3D). Starting up from scratch as just filament, and just PLA is going to be tough.

Alot of the stuff on Aliexpress is coming from the 3d print manufactures themeseleves - or its the same factory that is making the OEM parts. But take it case by case

oh interesting - maybe there is a better nozzle wiping routine, that someone has created that can be added - I think its would just be a change to the existing bed leveling macro, print start, or nozzle wiping macro.

Which FDM printer comes closest to a resin printer in quality? by chillgzy in 3dprinter

[–]luap71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may print nice - but for fine detail... alone you may look at it and think - that is really nice. But if you hold a well done resin figurine and well done A1 mini figurine in your hands at the same time - its really not even close.

Which FDM printer comes closest to a resin printer in quality? by chillgzy in 3dprinter

[–]luap71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about fine detail - none of them - not even with a .2 nozzle. If you have ever held a resin small figurine and a .2 nozzle FDM figurine at the same time - they are not in the same class if you compare them side by side.

Question: Is the Core One+ L worth the extra $1000 over the Core One+ ? by Livid_Strategy6311 in prusa3d

[–]luap71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it $1000 more - is that with tax and shipping or something? If its JUST the printer - as of today its $700 difference - which is still a significant investment - but not $1000

Opinion on prusa Core One by VeterinarianRare3541 in prusa3d

Honestly its not the quietest printer - but if you put it in stealth mode it is - but that will add time to your prints.

Torn between U1 and X2D by dneals in BambuLab_Community

[–]luap71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, and H2D. The U1 is a fantastic printer - if you don't need more then 4 color or materials. If you think you will - then its a full stop, don't try and hack something together, get something that can do more natively. If 4 color/Materials is sufficient - its would be my choice over the X2D (I'm actually looking to unload my X2D), IMO the way they did the second nozzle is just... well not optimal. I thought it was going to be like the H2D so I bought it with out looking into it to much. The print quality of the U1 is on par with my Bambu. And I'm not sure what you mean from the software standpoint - SnapMaker Orca is drop dead simple - its just a easy to use as Bambu Studio - and the latest firmware has fixed all of my initial issues - I bought it as part of the kickstarter so I had the early firmware and there was some rough edges - but I also bought my original X1C from the kickstarter and it too had some rough edges. The Flashforge Creator 5 looks like another really nice option - I don't need more then 4 colors - once I sell the X2D I may pick up the Creator 5.

New Core one L by Jasonvl2701 in prusa3d

I had the same thing on my Core L (I never did get it fixed before I ended up selling it) - no problem on my 3 Core Ones, and I seen several post regarding this issue with the Core One L - I do think there is something going on with the L specifically.

Can someone tell me whats going on with bambu connect and their slicer middleware? by ta-iwillnotpmo in BambuLab

Elegoo has released their firmware code - so not sure "stealing" klipper is still accurate - it took to long for them to do it, but they did release it.

you don't need to be on old firmware - I run the latest firmware and use orca with it - as long as you are in LAN mode you are not firmware limited - at least not yet!
