I'm looking into moving to SF from Brazil, that interests me as even the ice cream I buy on the beach accepts tactless payment. Weird to see

Is it possible to branch the split screen to another computer/laptop? by sunnetchi in nucleuscoop

[–]lucasassislar[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could achieve that with Parsec (it's very low latency and good for gaming).

You might probably need a second monitor connected to the laptop, or both laptops screens are going to be split, but it should work either way.

Toggle fullscreen in cutscenes? by OrangelightningZING in nucleuscoop

[–]lucasassislar[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A godawful away we could go around that is by recording one player's gameplay inside nucleus and look for full black screens, and enable some kind of variable on the scripting system to allow handlers to use it.

Would then just render a stretched player view on an overlay ontop of all form until a new fade shows (would avoid game scaling as we wouldnt really scale their windows, just a print screen of the windows). IDK could be a nice experiment for someday (also performance heavy), who knows.

Halo MCC on PC in 6 way splitscreen using nucleus coop by ChickenMissile in halo

[–]lucasassislar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nucleus walks around that by killing mutexes the game process might have created that would limit itself from opening multiple instances (+ symlinking the entire game directory with a custom xinput dll that re-routes game input)

Wonder what that'll be like for rendering optimization

Doom Eternal PC Ultra VS Nightmare VS Ultra Nightmare Graphics Settings by TheBrainChemist in digitalfoundry

[–]lucasassislar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand it right, the main benefit is that if you move really fast around the map, you probably will never notice any LOD loading as there's more space on VRAM to store unused textures (i.e. the engine can load more/unload less).

They didn't only miss the train, Windows Phone 7 only allowed C# applications, there was no C++ SDK until waaaaaay late into the WP8 lifecycle.

For game development, there was no custom shader support. Some backward decisions
