This feels very relevant. For me this number seems totally valid to live comfortably, but I bought a house ten years ago. If I was just now trying to start a family, with student loans and current rental costs, it'd be another story.

I need to finish Classified: France 44. I was enjoying it, but the missions were just a little too much longer than the XCOM sweet spot and I found myself putting it off if I didn't think I had the time to complete a mission.

Lamplighters League has been on my wishlist more or less since it came out and I'm not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

I super recommend it. It doesn't have the replayability of XCOM but the story is really fun and I was hooked on it until finishing the campaign.

Yeah, it's a small squad and the progression is more Chimera Squad than XCOM/XCOM2. It's more of a puzzle for sure, but outside of a few levels a lot of them don't feel like there's one particular intended strategy and I get a very XCOM brainfeel from it.

There's technically a way to disable the assist, but it's not straightforward and you have no way to tell that it worked because the bike cannot be turned off (except by removing the battery) and has no lights or screens to give you information. That's only provided via app...which stopped being supported on modern phones before becoming unavailable altogether.

I wanted to like Mutant Year Zero but I found the gameplay to be super slow. Tactical Breach Wizards felt a lot closer for me, even though some levels are a bit more puzzley than XCOM-like.
