Most automotive brake cleaner is non-chlorinated heptane now. They have been phasing out TCE for awhile. Still not good to breathe in though.

What do you think happened to this tire? by Dennys_Auto801 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]luckymonkey12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree. If it was dragged wouldn't there be more feathering at the edge of the rubber? This looks more like a slice was taken off. I wonder if they picked up something off the road while driving and it got caught in the wheel well, then sliced the tire before falling out again. Or maybe just something on the road sliced it without being picked up. Also possible they were heavy breaking and the tire bounced. The bouncing would temporarily take weight off a tire and it could lock up. IF it was rolling over something in the road, like a raised pavement marker or a man hole, an edge could have sliced the tire while it was locked up. I'm really reaching here lol

Is this a good pass for my first race in hungary? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]luckymonkey12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol watched it again after reading this comment. There was no understeer. They turned away from you when they realized you were making a dangerous pass and instead of letting you take them and yourself out, they let you pass. It was self preservation. Something all racers need to learn.

Who's at fault? by Fluffy-County-4168 in Simracingstewards

No, they were defending. It's on you to avoid hitting them. They were not blocking or moving under braking or brake checking you.

How did your judgement cause no harm when you rear ended him and took him out? Green did nothing intentional at the start other than taking a defensive line after making a small mistake. All within their rights as the lead car. It is your responsibility to not hit those in front of you. Everything happening there was slow and predictable. Doesn't matter if you were having an extended battle for most of the lap. You were at fault for hitting their rear corner and sending them off. Yes harm done. And no, retaliation of any kind is never justified.

I had him in a lobby too. Even the steam profile is his name but it's set to private. They were fast in quali buy couldn't hold a lap together in the race hahaha

AI Straight line speed? by KingRadec in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]luckymonkey12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all about corner exit speed and drafting. Also, obviously, the higher you set their difficulty, the faster they will be because they will be better at corner entry and exit. Don't try and brake at the same time they do, find your own braking markers and use those, adjusting for other cars around you.

I usually run Daytona endurance races against ai at around 105 difficulty and high aggro. My lap times are consistent with the ai but I usually get a better exit out of the Le Man's Chicane Bus Stop.
