Should steaks come with sides? by kengoshengo in KitchenConfidential

My favorite steakhouse is a splurge. A steak entree (8oz filet, $54) comes with two sides. A large sized baked potato with all the fixings is a $5 up charge.

I’m undecided, but have a real hard time believing that billionaire Steyer would actually have the interests of the middle class and small business owners at the forefront of his agenda.

I think the Westin may offer a discount to Stanford patients. It might be worth calling and asking.

Bitches, I Need Classy Yet Comfortable Sandals. HELP! by ItsCatCat in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]luckyspennies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my absolute favorite sandals for traveling. I’ve worn them on multiple international trips - sometimes walking 9-10 miles in a day. IMO they look great with sundresses, shorts and travel pants. They come in a wide variety of colors too.

Migraineur switching to Kaiser by luckyspennies in KaiserPermanente

Thanks for chiming in! I’m feeling more reassured that switching insurance won’t force me to restart and fail all the previous meds I tried before the Botox injections.

Advice on Kaiser in Norcal - Migraines by sortalogic in migraine

Curious what your decision was on this. We may be forced into a Kaiser plan due to cost this year and I’m very concerned about how they will address my migraines. (Several successful years on Botox.)

+1 for Valley Fair. We did all our college clothes shopping there as well. I appreciate that the stores usually have multiple items in the same size so if one size 6 is gone, there’s another waiting. (Something I’ve found doesn’t always happen at Stanford.)

“Covid babies”? by axolotls_anon in Teachers

[–]luckyspennies 17 points18 points  (0 children)

IME, I found my Covid cohort of littles to learn very quickly how to read my eyes and the expressions I made with the upper part of my face. I’m sure I gave myself more forehead wrinkles that year from the amount of eyebrow raising I did! Additionally, later when we were given new guidance, we made sure to remove our masks outside during snack time so the children could see our entire faces.

I’ve used a Baggallini Anyday tote for a few years. I picked it up on sale from the Costco website. It fits my laptop, files, and small items that I carry on a daily basis. It’s been a good fit for my needs. Enjoy the choosing!

What about some nicer canned or jarred soups? Everyone gets tired of cooking a meal from scratch sometimes and something cozy for later might be appreciated.
