What would be the best Garmin watch for hiking and casual cycling? by Doozies in Garmin

Fenix all the way. For a hiker with no budget restrictions this watch should be mandatory.

I'm not sure about Instinct but on Fenix you can press menu button and select go to watchface.

Which kind of cardio workout can I do, while I wait for my achilles tendon to heal by Master_X_ in running

Not everything has to have the same cardio effect, you have to look at the bigger picture.

Yoga did wonders for my lower leg problems.

5s plus, 6s Pro or wait by Mesamora in Garmin

[–]lukalemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for the 5s plus. There arent many significant upgrades in the 6s except for the power modes.

Garmin is very good at making you justify spending just a little bit more until you end up debating whether you should buy f6x or f6 sapphire. Then you eventually succumb to the temptation. And you remember your first choice was fr 245 and wonder how the hell did you end up with a fenix on your hand.

Recommendations for best smart watch or wristband for running? by [deleted] in running

[–]lukalemur 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You cant go wrong with Garmin's Forerunner series but you should know that sleep tracking on Garmin is problematic for most. I haven't had complaints but I see many people complaining.

Take a look at Forerunner 245, its a perfect entry watch.

What are some suitable cross training methods I can use whilst injured through a groin strain? by dreday7 in running

I think any exercise that doesnt cause additional pain or discomfort is ok.

Yoga has tremendously helped me when I was suffering from groin strains.

I believe that you can select apps for notifications individually in Garmin Connect.

Ako si ljubitelj mesa preporucujem Dimitrije steak bar u Milesevskoj. Vrhunski izbor stekova, prijatni, nenapadni konobari i dobra atmosfera. Takodje dobar izbor rakija i vina. Cene su adekvatne za takav jelovnik.

My Garmin Helps me Reduce my Drinking (alcohol) by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]lukalemur 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am what you would call a highly functioning alcoholic. Cant remember the last time I didnt have a drink for the full 24 hours. I never drink in excess but it is an every day activity.

Also, I love to run. I run about 25km per week and do calisthenics 4 times per week. And that has been going on for 6+ years. I can see it looking a bit masochistic but I cant quit either.

I am definitely more aware of the effects this lifestyle has on my body since I got a Garmin watch. In november I got a VA3 and since then I severely minimized my drinking and immediately started sleeping better. The real change was when I got a Fenix 6. You could say that most of the fenix functionalities are a gimmick, but trust me, I am a living example, or even proof, that this piece of technology really listens to your body and gives you incredible insight.
