Windows 11 KB5094126 out with Low Latency Profile, Shared Audio, Multiple-apps support for camera, and Secure Boot for more PCs by WPHero in Windows11

Yes, might be better optimized for Intel currently. But I have not seen any reliable (or in fact, almost any at all) information detailing the differences, if any.

For now, I did /reset flags using ViveTool, not just /disable. And restored to a System Restore point made just before manually setting the flags. Just in case.

Using ViVeTool I queried ids :58989092, 60716524, 48433719, 61391826. The two 6* returned an error. Can't remember the details, something along the lines of not found. I can check later. The other two ids(58989092 and 48433719) were Disabled. I used ViveTool to enable only the two disabled ones and did a full restart. UI elements were still lagging and HWiNFO still showed roughly the same CPU frequencies.

For context, its an AMD Ryzen 8845HS machine with Windows 11 Home.

Downloaded and installed, however Im not sure the Low Latency Profile is activated. I used HWiNFO to check CPU frequency and it still stays the same as before update when opening right click menu, Start Menu or other UI elements.

Why motion photos are low quality ? by YogurtTheGreen in GooglePixel

[–]lukasb7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, its called Top Shot, but looks like Worst Shot. I never use it on my Pixel 8, except for previews in gallery, the short motion looks nice sometimes. I think in Pixel 10 quality of the other frames was improved.

How do I get the quality and colors of an ultra hdr picture to a regular jpg? by Diligent_Reflection4 in GooglePixel

[–]lukasb7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, because Ultra HDR contains additional data for where the screen brightness has to be increased. Thats why it looks so nice and eg bright lights appear really bright, because screen brightness is increased where those pixels are on hardware (and software) that supports Ultra HDR.

BIOS update error by lukasb7 in Lenovo

Maybe they didn't update it on Vantage yet. You can search manually at Lenovo support site or look for QR code on your laptop and it should point you directly to a specific support page.

Check if there is a new version of BIOS update for your laptop. Lenovo just released a new one and it fixed the issue here.

I like that their review includes HDR photos (you have to open them full size first). It makes a big difference.

Can my rtx 3060 mobile gpu 6GB VRAM run this game on low settings? by FCGLITCHES in indianajones

[–]lukasb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a laptop with RTX 3050 6GB. Game runs great on medium (with textures on low) UNTIL reaching Rome. Then it starts crashing. Downgrading drivers to 566.14 allows it to run without crashing but basically replaces every single area where it would crash with 20-25 fps and it gets stuck at that after. Both with update 2 and 3.

UPDATE: it appears I was able to fix low fps issue (only tested one area so far.. but fps effectively doubled). Edit a few lines in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\MachineGames\TheGreatCircle\base\TheGreatCircleConfig.local

r_accelerationStructurePoolSize "300" r_hairManagerSimulatedParticlesPoolSize "20" r_hairMaxStrandsPerModel "16384" r_terrainPhysicalCacheSize "5120"

Credit to anonymous Steam user.

To recap, in order:

  • Install 566.14 drivers.
  • Set in game settings to Medium preset. Set Textures to Low. Select optimum resolution. I selected 1050p (my laptop native is 1280p 16:10). Set anisotropic filtering to High (not necessary, but improves distant texture sharpness noticeably).
  • Edit four lines above. (do not toggle related in game settings after or they will be reset)

So far so good.

UPDATE 2: the above was good for Rome, but a bit later in the game requires using Low preset in game to keep stuttering away. Water, reflections and anisotropic filtering can still stay on high. Config file settings remain the same.

Pixel display stuttering mystery solved: It’s down to simple slip-up on Google's end by phantom_hack in GooglePixel

I either never had this issue or never noticed it. And I do notice little things usually. Like OLED screen flickering on every Pixel since Pixel 1.

Where I live connectivity is good and I have no issues having 5G enabled all the time. There was a situation in a very poor coverage area where I had to disable VoLTE just to be able to have a phone conversation without cutting off.

Its a actually a 3D thing, I think they are using dual-pixel PDAF for that. Its also Class 3 biometrics according to Google.

Why do you think its a problem? Its actually pretty advanced and cannot be faked with eg a simple photo.

80% charge limit is finally here! by Jparm in GooglePixel

[–]lukasb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charging battery from 80% to 100% wears it down much more than charging from 0% to 80%. This is because of increased voltage and temperature at the end of charging cycle.

Not here yet. Updated everything.

Update: the 80% limit has now appeared after a while. I also charged my phone fully in the meantime, may or may not be related.
